Must say that if I was on a first date with someone and 2 dozen bottles of booze were on display, I would assume that alcohol is a big factor in their life. And that might preclude date two.

Crass I well may be but I always wonder how much rent/mortgage people pay for some of these spectacular properties. The timbers are huge and gorgeous.

Tip #1 "know what you like and stick to it" hits home. I, too, have been a victim of the 47 bottles of shampoo and conditioner on the shower floor. Because they do not create miracle hair, they get thrown out. Waste of money, waste of shower floor real estate, waste of resources.

I lunch often with a coworker who checks her phone 3-4 times in the course of 40 minutes. And since the conversation is usually about her my presence seems doubly pointless. I've decided to keep a book in my purse to take out and read every time she checks her phone. Honestly I doubt she'll get the point. She hasn't gotten the point when I've outright said how rude I find it when people check their phones constantly.

So many of the home deco blogs are clones . . . tasteful neutral furnishing, DIY (or DBH-done by husband) trashbin or thriftstore makeovers, and "charming" seasonal decorating. Being fall, every dang one of 'em seems to feature a porch cluttered with pumpkins, with twig wreaths on the door, and some kind of broom made out of a stick. Or indoor vignettes with "fall" written on chalkboard paint upon which whatever object the blogger can slap it. That's what I like about AT; some of the homes wouldn't be for me or the shelter magazines for that matter, but clearly the owner is proud and happy of their very personal effort.
