I really like it; however, I remember how LOUD lockers were in school when you were opening and closing them. I wonder if the noise would be too much?

Do You Have Special Occasion Dinnerware?

I don't have special occasion dinnerware. I don't have anything against it, etc. However, I think you have to consider what type of life and friends you have. We have very casual friends so having Waterford or Wedgwood China seems ridiculous for us. I always feel nervous if I'm eating off of China at someone's house since it's so expensive. Plain white is great. There's a reason why chefs/restaurants use this color. Food looks fantastic on them AND it's always easy to replace a serving bowl. You can use different styles as well.

I really like the Lazy Susan bookshelf in the pic. Does anyone know where to get one? Also, if you're in the Raleigh/Durham/Greensboro area, there's a 99 cent bookstore in downtown Mebane. All there books - adults, children, etc. - are 99 cents. There are homeschool books and encyclopedias as well. Fantastic resource!! They have 25 cent per book (all books) sales during the year as well.

Is it just me or are the seat part of the chairs wicked high? If someone sat in those, they would have to be in a bent position the whole time. Or if their thighs were big in any way, they would hit the bottom of the island.....

Ok, have a question - are you bragging??? Just kidding. I totally wish I had your "problem". Only things I would change: the lighting, the appliances, wallpaper and the backsplash. It has fantastic bones. Definitely save your money...or sell the cabinets, etc. to me!!!

I think the frosted glass reminds me of a receptionist's desk at a doctor's office. I love modern looks/ideas, but I could never get behind this one.
