leadingedge - I was considering film to help cut the heat but was concerned that it would make the windows even more reflective at night. Our double pane windows reflect the interior at night a lot, it bugs me and I'd hate to make it worse. Apartment Therapy Boston | Window Treatments for South-Facing Wall of Glass? Good Question |

Love the bathroom at the top, any info on that cabinet/sink? Is that a handle for a drawer or storage of some kind? We have a teeny tiny bathroom and am always looking for good ideas and pieces that might work when we get to the much needed home remodeling.. I speak from experience when I say that feeding squirrels means they are also feeding, and causing a population explosion, of rats and mice. (And the rats do no care about chili pepper at all..) Apartment Therapy DC | Squirrel and Neighbor Dilemma |

I agree with the sentiment particlebored. As for me I was also against the hype, the plan, the way people would feel free to judge me for the very purchase of the thing thinking that everyone buys it just as a trophy, but it was just to useful to resist. I tried that several years ago and it simply didn't work due to the hair content of the poo (not to be gross but a fact with two thick furred dogs at the time). The whole thing plugged up and the digester was ineffective. It really just became a nasty ugly smelly issue, better to just dispose of the poops in something biodegradable IMHO. The point about the yapping small dog is that it notifies people in the house that someone is trying to break in, once they are in it is a whole other issue (and I'd heard that pros carry dog treats and deal with them once inside anyway). The cat run is brilliant! They can still enjoy fresh air and sleeping in the sun without the potential for getting hit by a car, disease transmission or injury from other animals, and prevents them from decimating the birds - great idea. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Times HG 6.05.08 |

Hmm, I briefly checked out a bamboo web site, http://bamboosourcery.com/, and growing in containers looks a bit trickier then I expected. This site has good info too http://www.bamboogiant.com/speciesList/speciesList.php. Apartment Therapy New York | PlantTherapy: Here Come the Flowerboxes |

Oh yes, any more info on bamboo types and even the best type of containers (with drainage or without? fiberglass?) and sources for large planters would be great! This is exactly the type of look I was thinking of for in front of our place, perhaps with simpler design planters Apartment Therapy New York | PlantTherapy: Here Come the Flowerboxes |

Okay, you guys are going to mock me, but I have to cook my elderly dog's food, and this looks like it could help macerate the veg for it. I also cut off a pinkie tip when chopping onion once and have been leery of that ever since... This could be very handy for me - thanks for the chance. I too will wait and see after buying two sets only to have one charging base die very quickly (and no simple recourse to deal with it; still only have one functioning base). The 8 Candelas each hold charges of varying durations but few close to as long as they should. Apartment Therapy - NYT: Candela's Evolution |
