Oh, that's easy - put a moss green (not mint - mint is cool toned. You need a warm toned, yellow-based green) with it. You can also do a shade of yellow. Just be sure to use the right tone of yellow, too. Try using those little paint color sample cards to match the color up correctly. Then use the little cards to pick out anything else you want to buy or make for the bathroom.

Since the bathroom is small, use yellow for the larger items, and a yellow-based green for the accessories, and trim on any larger yellow items.

Wood texture and color would also be a nice addition. The bathroom will end up having a nice forest/rainforest feel to it.

Add a touch of gold or brass metallic detail, and you're set.

I normally do not like an ultra old world/traditional style, but this space is done superbly - it really sets a great mood. Just looking at the space makes me want to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea......

Do possible/probable endangered species qualify as art? Also, the lack of color or originality is a bit cowardly....

Yeah - the birds look better because the black and grey go with the blue: the black is a neutral, and the grey is cool toned, like the blue is.

I always stress to people who redecorate a whole room or a whole domicile to go and get a pad of paper and a 64 or 128 count magic marker set from Walmart or Meijers or wherever, and do a whole room plan up. Pick out all your colors and furniture and whatnot and design your style beforehand, refine it on paper. Once you get it where you want on paper, THEN apply it. Its much easier to make corrections on paper, than after you've bought the wrong furniture or painted with the wrong paint, etc.

Lose the blue. The project in and of itself looks great - those are my colors. However the warm earth-tones of the yellow, orange and brown clash with the blue. If it were my place, I'd paint the blue beige or a complementary shade of green.

the before picture looked better than the after picture. Not to knock the work put into the desk, but the overall impression was cleaner and more streamlined in the before shot.

How does an external picture of a bungalow win a romantic bedroom contest? Man, what a plonker.....I bet you this was scanned off the cover of somebody's Xmas card....

You know, a bedroom contest should contain entries of..............bedrooms!

I can't believe somebody fell for this.

1. If the main room is small, I would contrast the color, but keep both choices of color on the light side, to maximize the conception of size.

2. If it were my place, I'd buy a great floor lamp, by a great reading chair, and get myself a nice side or occasional table, and create myself a reading nook. You could also have a semi-circular or circular bench or oversized ottoman placed in that location, if you wanted a less conventional alternative to the "reading nook" suggestion.

Also, if you're into drama, you could go for one giant piece of sculpture placed in the turret, with nothing else.....

Even a small desk would be nice - the view would be great.

Its the shade, and the color of the lamp that detracts from its potential. The shade has a horrid border on it - in needs to be absolutely flat. The shape of the shade is atrocious. It needs to be cylindrical. It is not. I would also suggest a different color for the base. Murky green would make most things look poor.

Looks like a professional designer worked on this place - very good. The forms and shapes are represented very well. Color was used nicely in the living room: vivid, but not overpowering. I would have liked to see a touch more of the color from those stripes in the bedroom too. This was well designed.

OK - this is what I call "super-sweet, post-millenium, urban funkeclectic!" This is a place!!

You know, the best looking living spaces are the ones that you NEVER get tired of looking at...where you eyes can just flow back and forth over the room, as if they were your hands, touching the objects.....this is what its all about!
