Flickr is my go-to for searching for inspiration pictures. I've yet to find such a real source of homes in print.

Day 3: Find Inspirational Photos For Your Home
The 20/20 Home Cure

I agree with VeryThorough. I kept looking for the "discussion groups" or whatever they were called until I finally realized that it was just the comments to the geographically applicable post. If that would have been a little more clear, I think I would have enjoyed it more and that there might have been more participation.

I agree with a little more support in the last two weeks, but I also am grateful for you giving us this weekend to finish everything up. We had some life bumps and bruises get in the way, and with this weekend, we were able to finish everything up. It was a good way to get back to life as normal with all we've had going on, and it felt good to center back in on our home.

I will say that although we only hung some curtains in the living room, some blinds in the kitchen and a photo wall in the foyer, the changes in the apartment have been a lot to take in over the past day! I usually adapt well to change, but it's been interesting to me to see my response to feeling like it's a different/new home.

The prices at the Robshaw sale have apparently been going down each day. They had quite a few tablecloths and pillows, but there were not too many styles (between 5-8?). Quilts were really cheap yesterday ($80 for a queen), but not a whole lot of options.

If you like his stuff, I'd still go check it out. I got these yesterday:

$45 total for a 60x60 and a 180x60.

Our living room needs a lighting overhaul. It just has a standard fixture, and we have no supporting lamps. The only good thing about it is that we get a ton of natural light (b/c I am still shopping for curtains and blinds) and we have a dimmer switch.

I was also setback. Swine flu one weekend and then playing catch-up on homework this past one. We're having guests and Thanksgiving next week, so it's crunch time!

I would look at any accent piece or textile that has red in it and replace it with a lighter, brighter tone. I would also change the sconces and the picture over the fireplace with something more modern and fresh. All of the artwork is very dark.

I wouldn't paint the built-ins but rather change the accents to lighter colors, change the cushion on the bench, and perhaps add a shade or curtains in a light tone to add some color to the wall via the window. If you feel like you must do something to the built-ins, perhaps wallpapering the back of the shelves could break up the monotony. Definite slip cover for the couch.

If you like the rug or it's not in your budget to change it, play up the lighter colors like the green and yellow. You could even use that pink, though I don't particularly care for it.

Can I tag on to saeras comment and say I'd love a great post about modern fabric lines? I'm still having a heck of a time with curtains for our red-cabineted kitchen!

My biggest accomplishment is that rug! (Well, and being included in The Cure post! Made my day!) The rug ended up arriving today, and it looks fantastic. It's changed the feel of the entire room, and we're only getting started. Can't wait for the curtains!

Window treatments! (I really hate the thoughts that are provoked by that phrase, though.)

We desperately need a valance for the kitchen (but I can't find anything in bright colors with a red base), curtains for the living room, and white wooden blinds for both rooms. Since I finally found a rug for the living room via The Cure, I can get started on the living room when it arrives next week!
