My Thanksgiving resolutions: To consume less, and to start making sure that every purchase I make is ethical. I'm going to shop and buy local, buy used before new, buy organic from farmer's markets, and stop buying stuff I don't need or ever shopping for fun. As a web designer, I am going to work only for clients with ethical businesses that benefit society. Wow, the bones of your house are amazingly beautiful with that dark wood trim, staircase, built-in bench in the entryway, and cabinets in the dining room. I only regret that you decorated it with Danish Modern furniture. Although I appreciate your obvious love for simplicity, this is a case when that style is not suited to the house at all. It would look much nicer with contemporary but classic furniture in an arts and crafts/bungalow/prairie style, or something that reflects the history of Minneapolis architecture and compliments that dark wood. I like that you have a rug and curtains. It's cold there and those fabrics are necessary. Can you please tell me what brand of stove that is and how wide it is? I have a tiny stove like that in my apartment. It is very old and rusted, and I would like to replace it, but I didn't know they still made such small stoves.

I would like to see more seasonal and holiday decor on this site.

Adventrising is right. I've been laughing since I read their comment. Forget about collections, they are materialistic and collect dust, and in this post sub-prime mortgage economy, none of us can even afford more than an apartment. There should be more articles about "the power of one."

On another note, I love this blog because you can say practically anything in the comments. That's what makes it interesting. I'm glad the editors of this site have allowed this kind of freedom. I stopped reading Design Sponge because you can only make positive comments. They are Happy Nazis.
