I spent a month on a study abroad trip to Israel many years ago. Every few days we'd go to the market and pick up picnic lunch staples which included bread, cheeses, olives, and peanut butter. One day my professor dared me to have a peanut butter and olive sandwich. I went for it, and surprisingly it's become a favorite. The brininess of the olives cuts the sweetness of the peanut butter.
