Seems like the Midwest one fails about once, twice a month. I'll admit I don't click the others as often, but that link is broken fairly often. The Daily Scavenger: Wednesday's Finds National Roundup for April 25, 2012 |

You can find way more about all the work these two talented folks have put into their home at http://www.yellowbrickhome.com/. I've been following their blog for a while now and was super stoked to see them here! They're also amazing community members with lots of love for their dog and I love what they've done. I sleep best on one side with my upper arm curled around something. When I was a kid it was whatever stuffed animal was the favorite at the time, but when I went off to college it became a small red pillow my mom made for me that has my childhood blanket in it. I always sleep better with it. What's Your Can't Live Without Item for a Good Night's Sleep? Reader Survey |

Not sure about running from "move in fees." I'm apartment hunting right now, and I've been shown a lot of perfectly nice places that have no security deposit, no move out fee, but do have a move in fee that's about 1/4 the cost of a month's rent. I would prefer a security deposit to a non-refundable move in fee, but can't see a reason to run from it. 5 Things to Run Away From as a Renter Renters Solutions |

I definitely second using comic book style or pop art style work to bring pink into the room without painting. Classic Adam West Batman-style "Pow!", etc. It would be super dynamic and fun, and the best part is that he could help you choose the pieces, if not help make them himself. As a renter, a lot of this room might be out of the range of possibilities (https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-16sr1fJ7Zu8/TX7OuDhNc_I/AAAAAAAAICo/p6tzB4tb14o/DSC_0005.JPG) but Google "superhero kids room" and you'll see lots of inspiration that's gender-neutral and can integrate a lot of colors. Have you thought about using smaller models? I've been looking at some small capacity washer/dryer sets that totaled to a lot less money (~$600 range), partially because the unit I'm moving into doesn't have a standard W/D hookup and these models don't need it. My parents had teak Windsor chairs that came with their dining room table from the time I was an infant until well into when I was in college. They were then inherited by my cousin, who subsequently passed them along to me. With a little bit of Murphy's Oil and/or some hydrating wood cleaner once a quarter or every other month, they've lasted almost thirty years through kids, dogs, moves...everything. If you invest in some quality wood that you love, you won't be replacing it every couple of years and I think you'll thank yourself (and save money) in the long run. Which Dining Chairs Should I Get? I use my Bissel Little Green Deep Reach (http://www.bissell.com/little-green-proheat-deep-reach/) on a ton of different things (pretty much everything but my boyfriend at my dog, at this point) and had a lot of luck. Especially with smaller, hand-made rugs I've found in thrift stores, etc, I've had little to no trouble with colors running or lots of fluff coming off. I don't use the chemical stuff it comes with, just hot water, and it works like a charm. Well worth the investment. How To Clean Old Chenille Rugs? Good Questions |

Ok, so I haven't been to an Ikea in forever, but I also haven't seen the Frosta on their website in what...a year? Does anyone know if they've just stopped putting it on their website but it's still sold in the stores? Convert the IKEA FROSTA Into the Perfect Laptop Desk IKEA Hackers |

I really wish we could easily upload drawn suggestions to answer these kind of questions. I would put the desk under the stairs, and the media console up against the wall opposite, with the couch facing it and creating a "hallway" between it's back and the stairs. When we moved into our current apartment, we put our couch in the middle of a room like this and would never go back after this. It's a really pleasant, welcoming layout, plus having your desk under the stairs like that limits distractions, and if it's long enough gives you a landing strip. Opala vinho verde. Let me say that again louder. OPALA VINHO VERDE. It's never more than $8 or $9, frequently on sale, light and not too sweet, perfect warm weather white wine. I love it. I have come home to discover my boyfriend saw it on sale and brought three or four bottles back to the apartment with him. It is that delicious. Hate to be a downer here, but if there's little room to store food in a kitchen once it's filled with "gadgets" does it strike you that maybe there are too many gadgets in the equation? Or that there's a better place to store them than where they are? I'll admit I'm blessed with a small (3x3) island in my kitchen where I can store the crockpot, juicer, food processor...but if I didn't have it, I don't think I'd take up too much food storage place with them. @Funstraw I have a few different Expedit pieces that have lasted me ~4 or 5 years of pretty heavy use. They're much better than some of the other Ikea shelves, that's for sure. IKEA Expedit, Rejiggered IKEA Hackers |

@INGDesign: I've had horrible luck with cloud services. I had Carbonite for just under a year, and in the last four months it started chewing through my memory and eventually through my harddrive (turning it into virtual memory). I'm fairly computer savvy, but I couldn't manage to get it to run properly and ended up having to do a clean OS install to get rid of all the problems I had. Two friends had the same exact issue, and when I called Carbonite to discuss with them (and maybe cancel my service) the rep was rude and kept saying "Well, no one else has this issue, must just be you and your friends." I ended up asking to cancel the service, and he said the only way to do that was to cancel it myself...which I couldn't do because the site wouldn't let me log in. He continued to be rude to me about that, and I ended walking away with a completely foul taste in my mouth and $55 wasted. Safes seem like a safer (ha) bet. Keeping Your Data Safe |

Ok folks, all the Aeron talk is starting to surprise this long-time Steelcase nerd. (My mom has worked with Steelcase for years.) She just got me a Leap chair (http://www.steelcase.com/en/products/category/seating/task/leap/pages/overview.aspx) after working from a kitchen chair for months when I work from home and killing my back. Sure it's not as attractive as my beat up U-Chicago kitchen chair, but it's solid and adjustable and very, very comfortable. I put a pretty pillow on it, cover the back with a sheepskin or a blanket I like, and it blends right in with everything else in our living room. If you're not at your desk for more than a few hours a day, also check out the Coby (http://www.steelcase.com/en/products/category/seating/multi-use-guest/cobi/pages/gallery.aspx). Both of these are often possible to find for A LOT less than Aeron chairs, they come in TONS of colored fabrics and different plastic/metal color combinations, and overall I think they're a lot better looking.
