best to check with someone who understands the material. depending on your table base it might need to be supported in certain ways. because it was destined for a counter top it may have been cut a bit thinner than if it was planned to be used as a table top. just a guess.

i don't buy the basic premise of this article.people have different needs/working styles. maybe instead of mistakes, we should talk about intentions.

I'm not sure this is really the inside scoop without talking about $$. Also, and maybe this is just my experience, but I find it hard to think about Boston without consideration to the areas outside of boston. boston is less a city specifically and more of a region given the huge number of people that live outside of the city, and in many cases outside of the state - north shore, south shore, NH, RI etc.
