I'm wondering about the chair as well. Anyone?

The previous owners of my place installed these and they are amazing! No leaks either. They're far brighter than conventional skylights. At night they act as dim nightlights because they usually still have a little light from streetlights or cloud cover.

Why aren't there more comments here? Can't everyone see how cool these are? Are there any more left?

This weekend I'm making a mad rush to finish buying and setting up. Miraculously, all of my stuff got delivered this week (instead of another 2 weeks like I expected). Not everything is going to get done, but I'm aiming to get most of the visual things in so I can take some pictures for everyone to see. I'm already much happier with my room.

Darn it! I had already decided on half of that stuff for my room! Now it looks like I'm copying her!

It was great to meet many of you on Wednesday and put some pictures to names.

I made the first pass on my budget last night. Not as much as I'd like, but it'll still be enough to get stuff done. Actually, knowing me, it'll be a challenge to makes some decisions and spend it!

Up next this weekend: going to my favorite furniture store (or maybe two!), and pulling that crazy style tray together. I think it's going to require a trip to the hardware or fabric store for some color samples.

I'm not sure how all of this is going to fit into my already crazy weekend. Wish me luck!

1. Jeanine
2. Fly - 2 in grey/black, 1 in white
3. My bedroom is currently a sad, square box of blank walls, desperately in need of some adornment. The wall over my bed is the saddest of all, especially since it's the first thing I see when I enter the room, and is the only part of the bedroom visible from the rest of the flat.

I'm going to be curing my bedroom starting on Monday, but so far, I've been mostly thinking about furniture, bedding, drapes, etc. Adornment is often the last thing I get to, which means I don't get to it at all! This time, I'd like to start with some awesome Fly on the walls to get me going in the right direction.

Yes, yes! I'm in! Downtown would be great for me, although I might be a little late. Would that be a problem?

Marcelo --

I feel like I have the same problem sometimes. For me, it helps not to think of looking for stuff I want to emulate, but just for stuff that looks attractive, or individual pieces or ideas that look intriguing.

For example, if I see a piece or a treatment that I think looks great, I'll add it to my style tray even if I don't really think it'll look good in my place, or if it's the wrong color or style. Last night I ran across a picture of an elaborately painted ceiling medallion. I didn't like the traditional style of it, but I ripped it out just because I liked the idea of doing some kind of treatment where the ceiling medallion would go.

Hope this helps!
Jeanine

Thanks to everyone for helping us newbies get prepared!

I've started reading the book, and I've gotten as far as the Style Interview. This is a fitting stopping point for me, since I have Decision Paralysis.

I'm impressed to see so many folks doing the whole house cure. I'm too chicken for that. I'll start with my bedroom and see how that goes (is that another form of my DP?).

I've posted some before pictures of my bedroom here:

and some inspiration pictures here:

Please make comments and notes with any thoughts/ideas you have!

Can't wait to start tomorrow!

I might just join this time. I moved in to my new condo a year ago, and have barely done anything with it. I guess I better go get that book!
