How about hammered finish aluminum mini- or micro-blinds. Easy-care, won't show hairspray or steam spots, and not very expensive at all for custom sizes (especially for small bathroom windows). Accessories for a Retro Green Bathroom? | Apartment Therapy Boston |

I've been using the 3M hooks for years - I don't rent but I like rearranging. I have followed the directions exactly every time, even when I've been impatient to hang things, and so far they've never left a mark on the walls, taken off any paint, or come unstuck. All my walls are painted (flat enamel except satin in kitchen/bath) drywall without much texture, so that's probably the ideal surface. How To Hang Artwork Without Nails? I am delighted to find out that this room won - this is my favorite entry and the first one I checked in on after each vote. So beautiful, warm, relaxing - this is the room that changed my mind about blue. I love the coral kitchen too! Apartment Therapy Chicago | And the Winner Is... Room for Color 2009 |

I think the cabinets and countertop are beautiful. It's great that they were able to find someone to do this. At the Joinery link, there's a picture of these cabinets with a concrete countertop, and that looks really good too. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | A Modern Mid-Century Kitchen Renovation |

Great room. I like how the window and buffet are inset, it seems to give us different ways to see the two colors. The metallic picture rail is a nice touch too. On the dining table, is that inlay, or painted? Could we get another picture of the table top? Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Sherry's Warm Orange Dining RoomRoom for Color - West #15 |

How about using a semi-opaque tinted stain on the brick? My contractor suggested this and it was VERY easy to do, probably much easier than painting. That would help even out the mottled look and bring out the wood paneling, which seems to be really nice. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Should I Paint My Fireplace Gray? Good Questions |

I've ordered a lot from foamorder.com. Their customer service is great, and every custom-size and custom-firm piece arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. One thing to keep in mind is to order the bolsters just a little shorter overall than the back of your bed; I didn't do this for my daybed and by the time the custom covers were put on, they extended past the edge on both sides. The upholstery fabric we used was textured and kind of thick, so that made a difference. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Cushions that Convert a Bed to a Sofa? Good Questions |

Great description lucy love - "corned beef hash" granite - I'm surprised that this look appeals to so many people. That same design is available printed on laminate (formica, wilsonart) and in solid-surface, so somebody must like it. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Your Biggest Design Pet Peeves Austin |

sassifrassi and kelleyk - check out concetto by caesarstone, that might be similar enough to work. I've never seen it in person, but some of the patterns look really nice on the website. Apartment Therapy New York | Caroline's In/Animate Collections House Tour |

I've used these for several years (the sawtooth and wire hanger kind mostly - just tried the Velcro type this year) on flat-latex-painted drywall and they've worked perfectly. I rearrrange a lot, and it's nice to be able to move art without having to patch and paint. Out of about 70-80 of them, I've only had one fail. I think I exceeded the weight limit on that one, and used two on the re-hang. I've only used them for art, not for mirrors, and not for anything over 15 lbs. I like both rugs too, but based on the accessories shown, I'd choose the first rug. It does have a lot of pattern and color, but it doesn't look busy or have (too) much contrast if you do a "squint test." Agree with those who say you'll have more options later (though others say that about the leaf rug, too!) Apartment Therapy Chicago | Which Rug for Our New Living Room? Good Questions |

The removable cover is a nice feature, though I'd prefer a machine washable fabric, and the option to purchase additional covers. As others have commented, the size might be a problem. Daybeds often are used in rooms with limited space, so the 48" frame depth may not be practical - that's even deeper than most regular sofas. Apartment Therapy New York | Hot or Not? Another vote for the Minka Concept II fans. Great for very low ceilings, quiet, and they move a LOT of air. We do have central air conditioning, but don't have to use it nearly as much since getting three of these fans last year. Apartment Therapy DC | Ceiling Fans With Style |

This is $120 (half-price) and I think it would look nice with your chairs, but I agree with others that a table with (table) lamp might be more practical. Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: New Floor Lamp for this Space? |
