You, stt64, would never be allowed in my home. MY house is not on display for stuffy boring people like you. MY house is for me, my husband and my kids and if we like looking at family photos then so be it. If people walk into my home and walk out talking about me then you are not the type of people ANYONE should have in their lives.

From our point of view this house is an investment of sorts and what few improvements we need to make will hopefully up our resale value, all assuming the market gets better. We bought this house with the intention of moving again in 4 years. If the market still sucks and we find we aren't going to make money then that's ok too, we bought the cheapest house in the best neighborhood with the best schools :)

I traded the dirty antique white the previous owners liked for a nice bright ultra white. It made such a difference in here with the big windows and open floor plan.

I'm all about privacy, the occasional wave and hello is ok but other than that I say leave me alone. When we lived in military housing people let their kids run around as if it were the perfect safe commune. I had brats running through my house, yes through my house, when my kids were too young to have friends that old. Their mothers didn't care, I shooed those monsters back the way they came. Community tools? Maybe if it's a duplex or apartment but not in a single family neighborhood. Don't have it? Go buy it so you're not knocking on my door every time you need it.

I really love the first photo, I would love to have an extra large image like that on one wall!!

That being said, kushkush and vixvax I'm sure, right now, you're sitting in your stark white snooty loft alone. Homes are for a family to live in comfortably, not for the approval of anti-family gallery snoots.

I kind of like it, that and the night fishing one. If I had a giant house I'd use it :)

I don't get it? Do people really whittle their lives away by napping?

We were going to skip straight to a convertible but the nurse told us they would not allow us to take our firstborn home in it, especially with accessories NOT provided by the manufacturer, as they make the car seat unsafe. And you do not need to have your car seat put in by installers, go to a fire station, have them TEACH you the proper way and do it yourself.

Yes, you are a wet blanket. Why don't we just plop all of our kids in front of the tv to shield them from everything that can hurt them, oh wait, that's bad too......

I'm with Bianca. I don't understand the hatred toward a "family photo gallery" around here.

Otherwise, I like the wallpaper idea.

I love pine flooring and had plans to install shortly after closing, unfortunately that's when I found out this was slab foundation and solid woods can't be used(in most situations)......so much for doing my homework. I meticulously research everything, I don't know where I missed that memo, so now I dream of beautiful, dented, dinged and thoroughly loved pine floors :)

We keep ours on the floor but not because we like it like that. Our kids have always had a tendency to get in bed with us in the middle of the night, my frame elevates the pillow top mattress and box springs to an extremely unsafe height for babies and toddlers. So we decided that while the kids were little we'd keep the bed on the floor. We're in the process of buying our first home and since the kids are more aware of their surroundings we plan on putting the frame back up. Our decision was purely functional.

Wow, every time we've moved with movers they've packed and disassembled everything. We have never had to "prep" for anything? We do always buy them breakfast and drinks!
