This is what I'm planning on doing with our (non-functioning for the time being) fireplace for the same reason. I'd like to use birch logs - anyone know of a good resource for the logs?

I'm not entirely sure about the Hemnes - but I have a similar, older Ikea four-poster bed that's 10 years old. It's withstood 3 moves (where it was taken apart and put back together), daily wear and tear and it's still sturdy. The only problem with it is that my cats have ruined one of the posts with their claws.

Ummm.... I've wanted the table lamp version for ages. I have an idea for a giraffe theme for my kids room and it would be awesome!

My favorite lamp on the site (aside from the giraffe sconce) is the 30 light chandelier.

I did the blue food coloring thing in the milk - after I saw it on Martha Stewart. My 4 yo was unfazed.

I just double checked on the site - because I saw these in the catalog and they only come in gunmetal gray. If you want those colors - you have to paint them. I was weighing the cost of painting them with the extra $50 to get them at DWR.

All in all, not worth it, IMO. Unless you wanted a color that DWR doesn't offer.

I agree with some of the posters above, the cats loved the crib until the baby came. Then they wanted nothing to do with it or him. He's 4 now and they still steer pretty clear of him.

My absolutely favorite room of all time (which doesn't exist anymore) was the front bedroom in my grandparents shore house. it was painted a really light, sunny yellow and when the summer morning sun would come in the windows it was such a great way to wake up.

If you want a review from a champion ironer - you should give this to my mom. She irons every piece of cloth in her house, shirts, sweaters, pleated pants - even the sheets.

I like the great falls. my mom has a dining room table with a pedestal and she swears by it because you can always fit more people around it in a pinch. No legs to bump up against.

I agree with you about the need to see the tables first. Wish I could help.

This would be a great solution to the 'no heat at night' policy enacted in my building that's forcing my husband and I and and our 4 year old son to huddle in one bed under 4 blankets wearing ski caps.
