Have you considered mounting sheerweave roller shades on the door and sidelight and inside mounted on the window. If you prefer the look of drapery, a small drapery track like KS Track with Ripplefold drapes would work well. The track is less than 1" in height so it should fit underneath the a/c unit. I would mount the track just above your door and extend it out 15-18" on the left side for stacking the drapes. How to Dress These Windows Near AC Units? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

I would suggest installing one large roller shade with a valance (square or curved cassette or fabric) about 4" above your window casing. The right end of the valance will butt against your bulkhead. Select a light coloured valance or cassette for your roller shade; it will blend in to your wall colour and when the shade is rolled up you will see only the valance and beaded chain. Try using a drapery rod, ceiling mounted an inch or two in front of the existing horizontal blinds. If you get a rod that will bend (KS Track, I-Beam) you can ensure that the drapes will curve/return to the wall so they provide the best room-darkening effect. Ripplefold drapes like these would look great over your blinds. http://www.theshadestore.com/product/ripple-fold-drapery?# How to Deal With These Rental Window Blinds?
