Wow, this apartment is stunning! I love that the everyday things you use are displayed so lovingly, almost as decorations. And I also have to say that this post is so lovingly written, too. Carolyn, you did a great job capturing Meg and Andy's personalities and the feel of their home. Awesome tour, all the way around!

I appreciate this post. There's an IKEA near us, and we rarely go there. I just can't get excited about their products, and shopping there is eerily similar to strolling through an airport.

Ha! My girlhood dreams are coming true. The top photo is just wrong for so many reasons, but I do love that shower curtain. And Louise is a cutie!

Definitely try to go on a weekday and get there when it opens. IKEA reminds me of an airport, and people walk so slowly through the showroom that it's hard to navigate. I go with a list, take the shortcuts, and don't spend time there. I find the experience suffocating. And I know for a fact that people take their children there when the weather is bad, because I've been invited to go. It's not a mall, but some people use it like one.

I love this stuff, and I think I would stock up on it if I ever, heaven help me, move away from Texas.

This tour was too short! Your apartment is gorgeous and you hoard beautiful pieces! I was intrigued with the rose tufted velvet cushions at the foot of the bed in the first picture. Are those chairs?

I found a blue velvet tufted chair on Craigslist that is really retro and French-inspired at the same time. I put it in my bedroom and made a small reading nook, and it's now my favorite little spot in my house. This is a great post and the photo of the candles is so gorgeous.

I love white counters, and Carrara marble is so gorgeous. We recently redid our kitchen, and I had to compromise with my husband and get dark granite counters, but everything else is light and bright, so they are a nice contrast. I have heard good things about Caesarstone, too.
