Go for it! I have a white Ikea slipcovered couch. 3 kids and 5 years later, people are always asking me "how do you have a white couch with kids?!" it's because I can actually clean the covers with oxygen bleach. My daughter even decided to express her artistic abilities in highlighter on it once, and you would never know. A Bleach pen saved the day! I don't think you could say the same with regular couch! Yes, it can be a bit of a pain to take the covers off and on, but you'll get the hang of it.
