just a warning: my dad has a rotary phone (which i love and wanted to steal, i mean borrow, from him) until i talked to him on it. it is NOT harmonizing well with his telephone line. the volume is low and there's a weird buzzing noise every time he uses it regardless of who initiates the call. when baked goods are seen eaten straight from the oven, aren't they usually prepared versions of the recipe, completed well in advance? that's always been my understanding of how these shows work. maybe not everyone would assume that but who eats piping hot stuff out of the oven? being 1/2 panamanian latin food will always have a special place in my heart, esp. the foods with a caribbean vibe. rice and peas/beans (we use coconut milk and black eyed peas or pigeon peas in our version), stewed meats, frituras (empanadas and carimañolas)...god i'm hungry. but i also love a good old-fashioned pernil (roast pork). there goes my diet...
