I think it looks great. I have that desk and have been wondering what I could do to the drawer front to make it look nicer. For a quick, inexpensive facelift, I think this is spot on. Jonathan's IKEA & Contact Paper Desk Makeover Happy Mundane |

I had the same problem with the dough not coming together enough, so I added about a quarter cup more flour in increments and that seemed to do the trick. It was still very very loose and floppy, but came away from the sides and formed a "ball" and then slapped about in the machine - which I had to hold down! The dough rose and baked beautifully. My family all loved it and I have another batch in the oven now! Thanks for the recipe :) How to Make Ciabatta Rolls and Loaves at Home |

I would like to know the thought process for adding the nail things. No criticism, it looks fine both ways. But I do feel it's a little disingenuous to add the cushion and the side table to the after shot and not the before one, because I reckon the before would look better than the after with the same styling. Nice chair btw. Before & After: Janell Nails a New Style on a Plain Chair |

Looks great, love the paneling, but the "before" cabinets are completely different cabinets in a completely different space! Is the pic just to show the look of the pre-painted ones? Before & After: Amazing Bathroom Facelift for Under $200 HomeGoods |

I disagree with the last poster. It's not large home hate/envy, it's just getting pissed off at ridiculous design for people with too much space/unrealistic budgets. This is a website for "normal" people isn't it? If I had a massive kitchen like that I would have one island, a big kitchen table and a sofa/seating area. There's no storage (at all), there's no prep space in the kitchen. The door in the bedroom wouldn't close because of the chair in the way. This kind of fake styled space really annoys me. Show it how someone could actually use it. A Model Apartment: Jay Michael's Lincoln Square Style House Tour |

Well, it is a lovely house. Very elegant, beautiful styling, gorgeous muted colors etc etc, but all I keep thinking in every picture is wow, that must have cost a fortune. I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, but takes a little of the pleasure out of a house tour for me. Jennifer's "Eclectic Hamptons" Home in the Hills House Tour |

I'm a fan of rolling. We are 2 adults and 3 kids and ended up having to pack just carry on for a 2 week summer vacation after a ticket mess-up (my fault). So I made a list (which I never normally do), ironed everything to get rid of air and lumps, rolled things small, stuffed shoes and every bit of space in each bag (all on wheels so the kids could drag their own most of the time - youngest is 2 and a half but loves to pull her case!) Everyone wore their bulkiest items on the plane (boots, jackets, etc) and we bought toiletries when we got off the plane. It worked like a charm. No fuss, no waiting for the carousel and the holiday was much more practical cos we had less crap all over the place. I'm now a packing light convert! Travel Lightly: Our 5 Best Packing Tips |

I live 5 mins from IKEA and it's an addiction in a country where pretty much all the other interior shops are expensive. A trick I've discovered for overshopping there is use two yellow bags, one for the thing I came for and another for all the pretty things I see on the way round and can't resist. Then when I arrive at the checkout I just dump the second bag and buy what I came for. Sorted. The IKEA Habit: Need vs. Want |

Beautiful, beautiful, house - just lovely, all of it. So light and clutter free, yet comfortable looking. V envious. But where do the kids live? My three would have grubby fingers everywhere in a second (seat covers, pillows, walls etc). What's the secret? I guess maybe you have a separate living room somewhere? I want to live in this house. Stick 5 tblspns of butter in anything and it'll taste good, but the calories must be horrific! Surely this is a bit of a "doh" recipe?? Classic Recipe: Marcella Hazan's Famous Tomato Sauce |

I was brought up salting everything that's cooked in boiling water too, as a matter of course for decent flavour. Pasta, rice, potatoes, veg, etc etc. Makes a huge difference. Dinner Tip: "Salt the Pot, Not the Pasta" |

When your parents/old friends live in another country and their visits are lengthy, then a guest room is a sanity preserver for everyone. When the room is guest free, we use it as a playroom/den. The double duty arrangement that didn't work with us was having my home office as the guest room. It's a complete pain in the neck to have to move out of your regular work space when people are staying. I guess everyone is different and it all depends on your financial circumstances/stage of life/views on the environment and space etc. But sensible as the hotel thing sounds in theory, would your guests really let you pay for their overnight accommodation in a hotel/b&b if you didn't have a spare bedroom for them? I can't see it! I see lots of embarrassing conversations! The Case Against the Guest Bedroom from The Rammed Earth House by David Easton |

Thin slices on rye crispbread or wholemeal bread (or hot toast) is a regular breakfast/lunch/anytime thing in our household. But it's hideously calorific and sometimes gets a bad press here in Norway for being as "bad" for you as milk chocolate. But I guess that's why it tastes so good!
