While I think cowhide is quite beautiful on cows, I would not enjoy looking at something so closely reminiscent of a cow, in rectangular form, in my home. It's certainly creative, but creativity does not equate good design. But it's a taste preference. Some people obviously dig it. Before & After: From Faux Finish Fail to Fabulous The V Spot |

My (ex) boyfriend and I moved from Mobile, Alabama to Sacramento with his dad driving a Ryder moving van that was towing his truck and us in my Mazda with our puppy and my cat. We broke down three times, once in the Mojave desert in 110+ degree heat. My cat was panting as if he was going to die. It was scary and miserable. I think we wasted about 10 hours of our already long journey on the side of roads, however the Mojave desert part was beyond awful. What's Your Worst Moving Horror Story? |

This is the only design they've done on this show that has been semi decent. But I think it's understyled and the artwork is awful. I thought they had some talent on their original show but now I'm thinking their designing chops are not up to par. Home by Novogratz: Jersey Shore to Manhattan |

I think white square tiles or large rectangular white squares. I think you need something light and larger to balance out the small dark rectangles and more dark tiles on the floor would make the room feel gloomy. I think dark bathrooms can work in some cases but in this case I think that shade of green with black or gray would be too much. I also think white would keep it more modern looking. I bought two of these Jonathan Adler sconces for our living room and I love them! I got them for cheaper than they go for on his website so if you like them, just look around. http://www.jonathanadler.com/Ventana-Wall-Sconce-4516/?cat=675&initial=4146 Suggestions For Wall Sconce? Good Questions |

I have the Petrie in white. It's about two years old. I love the way it looks but of course it's hard to keep anything white clean. I ended up draping a pretty wool blanket on the cushions and back but imagine if I hadn't, it would need cleaning every six months. I use a handheld steam cleaner on the arms. Regarding comfort, it's comfortable! This applies to sitting and napping. I also love that the legs can come off as I had to utilize this function after my recent move. Regarding others comments about the buttons, I've had no issues. This refers more to the matching chair as it is not covered by a blanket. Which Of These Couches Should I Choose? Good Questions |

Oh my goodness...I was doing some snacking and reading and this stopped me right in my snack tracks. I DO have an old Benetton sweater from the early 90's that I can't get rid of. It's fuzzy pink with flowers and provides so much nostalgia for that time in my life that I haven't been able to part with it. This is indicative of lots of things that I have yet I always aim to actually get rid of stuff. Thanks for the tips. Breaking Up With Your Belongings: Decluttering Tips for the Sentimentalist |

Shofner - Thanks so much for sharing the link to Richard Isenhour. My grandparents lived on the corner of Hildeen and Zandale, just a 10 minute walk from Jesselin. I have such fond memories of walking around that neighborhood. It's lovely to learn more about an area that I hold so dear to my heart. Local Mid-Century Modern Architects |

I live in Sacramento and I was renting a 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, 1450 sq. ft. home for $1900. It was a lovely, well-maintained remodeled Craftsman with a huge, park-like backyard. We left this place to purchase a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1326 sq. ft. Tudor for $1900 a month. But it's a fixer so we're using our savings to do the renovations. When we're done it will be a 3-4 bedroom, 2 bath, two story home. Survey: How Much Is Your Monthly Rent or Mortgage? |

I really appreciate everyone's comments! My home is a hodge podge of good deals (floor samples from Crate and Barrel-including the cabinet/bookshelf and coffee table), inexpensive finds here and there, and family heirlooms.
