I like stripes as a contrast to the curtain pattern. How about these green rugby stripes from Pottery Barn Kids: Bedding To Pair with These Curtains? Good Questions |

I once did stripes with a glaze (mostly clear with a little gold metallic sheen) on top of a flat paint. Worked great--I imagine would be similar for a stencil. A Subtle + Fancy Wall Treatment Kristen F. Davis Designs |

I think I would choose a light blue-gray to complement the red-orange brick. Or some kind of taupe or greige tone that is neutral, but still lets the white trim and fixtures pop. You've made such great use of a small space! (And FWIW, lighter grout is so much harder to keep looking clean.) Color Recommendations for My Bathroom? Good Questions |

In general, a regular bag is fine. The one feature that I appreciated in a diaper bag (Skip Hop has them) is the extra clips for hanging the bag from a stroller. If you use a stroller a lot, this can be a real convenience--not having to carry the bag separately, and not having to drag it out of the stroller basket, if it even fits. I love the Bummis trainers, too. Another trick I use is to put a thin nylon diaper cover (the pull-on pants) on top of padded training underpants. Top with fleece pants for yet another water-resistant layer, and you're pretty protected for a couple errands. Options for Cloth Pull-Ups Good Questions |

We had two winter babies in Chicago, and the fleece Bundle Me was soooo much better than a snowsuit or other kind of bunting (we tried them all). Definitely a better, safer fit of the carseat straps, too. A warm hat and booties (and maybe an extra receiving blanket or two tucked around baby when it's crazy cold), and you're all set. Like most other commenters, we avoid many battery-operated toys just because of the annoyance factor. As our kids grow, the toys with the most longevity have been building toys--Tinker Toys and Legos, especially. They build things that they incorporate into their pretend play. But I've also noticed that a few electronic toys get frequent use, not so much for their special effects, but as props in various play scenarios: the toy laptop, the electric guitar (meant for the toddler, but big sibs and cousins are always stealing it), the Spy Gear. Our landing strip is well-established, but with 3 kids and the changing seasons, our coat hooks/shoe shelves/cubbies are cluttered. I'm going to take today to clear out the summer stuff, pare down the shoe & bag collection, and clean all the surfaces. Day 8: Establish a Landing Strip The 20/20 Home Cure |

Since I dusted and vacuumed the living and family rooms just yesterday, I went for the kitchen today. Spent closer to 40 minutes, but that included cleaning the sink, and wiping down appliances. It's great to have fresh, clean surfaces and floors again! Day 1: Clean One Room The 20/20 Home Cure |

Another vote for the Britax Boulevard. We moved our third child into it at 5 months when he outgrew the Snugride, and he's still in at age 2.5, with plenty of room to grow. The Boulevard can be rear-facing until 35 lbs., and chances are, your baby's growth will slow down. Britax seats are so much easier to install correctly than most other brands! For strollers, I would look into the Baby Jogger City Series. We have a double, but my 5-yr-old is still comfortable in it, and my 7-yr-old can still squeeze into it! It's nice and tall, reclines, and has a 5-pt harness. Car Seat and Stroller Options for Tall, Big BabyGood Questions | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I bought a similar mirror for my powder room, and painted the pickled oak vanity black. We have brushed nickel hardware and lighting, and a cream countertop and walls. I used green accents in the towels, rug and art. The floor is oak. Personally, I love it! The black looks so much...classier. I've been thinking about wallpaper, but one step at a time. I painted a dresser very similar to yours that I bought on Craigslist. I didn't sand anything; I just used BIN 123 primer. Ask your paint store for the primer that will stick to shiny surfaces (we also used it on our cheap fake-wood paneling in the basement). Then cover it with whatever latex paint you like. I did add a coat of polyurethane to the top, just in case. My 4-yr-old has had her dresser for over a year and there's not a single chip (and trust me, she's not gentle). The toddler years are when you definitely don't want doors! A toddler will figure out how to open them and pull stuff out anyway, and then get his fingers pinched, or worse--knock a sliding door off its track. I find that removing the closet doors also makes the room seem larger. Removing Closet Doors in the Nursery | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

Like many families, we have children of various ages, and this looks like a great idea for us. It would limit our older children's viewing options, but when it inevitably gets left on the family room floor, the 2-year-old couldn't do much harm to it (or land on HBO when randomly pushing buttons). I second Cricket Magazine--and they publish several other magazines with different subjects for different age groups. My 7-yr-old who loves science adores Ask magazine.
