I tend to like hooks over bars and rings; you don't have to constantly re-fold the towel for it to look great, and it dries out way faster after use (I hate trying to dry my hands on a semi-moist, folded towel). They are also more inviting to use, as guests are not forced to spoil, and then try to recreate, that hotel-perfect towel bar. Either spot would work, as long as the length of the towel fits. Obviously, this is just my preference...

Thanks for the thought, but since we are renting, we are not permitted to drill into the horsehair plaster walls (but for some reason the moldings are ok). This was the best we could do.
