In response to the people who don't see this as art...I would like to say that I did study painting at the National Theatre School of Canada and like to think that I integrate my characters into the given landscapes in such a way that they look natural there and illustrate a story. I am open to debate on the subject though....

I am so inspired by all the artists I have found out about through this thread and others lately. I had seen monocol's "Woodgills" on etsy and that is what started me going.
One other really great guy that I saw yesterday was Mathew Myers http://www.myerspaints.com/Site/Collaborative_1_myerspaints.html
This artist is great- he really integrates his painting well into these elderly prints. It also helps that he is very masterful with shading and light...His other works are just as charming too.

I make terrariums too although a lot more kistchy than the elegant ones above. I use thrift store glassware and ceramics and then sculpt figurines to inhabit the little plantscapes.
I would like to push my design in a more modern direction like the artists above - I am trying some new things with tillandsias.

I have been making terrariums from thrift store glassware (including light fixtures) and ceramics too- having a gas doing it too- I also sculpt tiny figurines to make organic dioramas-
