Apartment Therapy New York | East Finalist: Luca's Surplus of Storage & Light

1. Luca's
2. Family of 4
3. Tony and Hilary's
4. S.S. Waverly

Hi Sandy and Andy, no offense, your place is absolutely gorgeous and definitely well qualified as one of the 4 finalists. But I think Luca's and Family of 4 are in a different level which is unbeatable.

This is purely cocky to me. You see the motorcycle being moved around to be included in every picture. Owning and riding a motorcycle myself, I noticed that the tires are way to clean for a true motorcycle rider. This could indicate that the person is having it as a display rather than riding it regularly. Or, if he cleaned it up for photo shooting purposes, it's ridiculous to move it around against the wood floor.

Get a garage, pal!

My reaction was "Huh?" when I browsed through the pictures. And then I read it carefully and realize this might be a college dorm room. Okay, make more sense. It does have the "anthropology style" but geeze!! What a mess!!! Things are everywhere and I just could imagine all those antique smell mixes with the air diffuser stick fragrance...

Most parts are really nice except the bed room, that asian art thing just make the room looks really cheap.

I like the orange color a lot but did not get the part of hanging scarf on the column next to the bed.

I wish I got to see more about the bathroom rather than the detail shot of that thing in the kitchen.

I can feel that my eyes all get itchy and watery just like walking in home depot.

I liked it A LOT!!! Loved the open bath room and the kitchen. Some parts doesn't make sense though:
The set of grid-framed glass door doesn't fit into the place.
Nice that the color of the painting on the wall matches the antique-like door, but one is super modern and one is super old so kind of confused.

I liked it a lot! The pictures gave a nice open effect in the living room and that smiling face on the wall is lots of fun. Simple, worked well.

Liked the first picture a lot but the rest of them are ehhh.... Kitchen is outdated (but neat) and not sure about what's the red object which kind of lean to the side in the entry way.

I agree, maybe a low platform bed can do better for the "Roomy" feel.

Yeah I agree with Frau that it just looked like a CB2 show room. While everything is nice and pretty, it also lack of creativity if you just go buy all the furnitures at similar places and put them together.

I'm okay with it, but then I read the owner's comments of this place, I liked it more. It is definitely a very functional place in such a small space, however, rather than other contestant's "living big", I felt very constrained especially by bedroom, I almost felt that I couldn't breathe. The other area showed a lot of creativity and I'm sure you are capable to do it better in the bedroom. I voted "cool" for those credits.

This place is brilliantly done!!! Totally not my style but I loved it! The glass blocks are perfect for lots and lots of natual light.

Not to be rude but this place doesn't fit into "minimal style". The beauty of the style is clean and fine finishes with neat and straight components. This place is way too messy and busy to be considered as "minimal" and lots of the component is rather cheap than fine.

The corner with folded blanket and pillows, maybe a lamp or some darl object sticking out is just like a college dorm.... The pendant lamps... both of them are modern, mid centry rather than minimal.

Less furniture does not equal minimal… It might be a minimal wanna be, maybe in another few years.

Totally not my style at all but I suprisingly loved it! It is so much fun and all the decoration said a lot about the owner!
