These remind of the sound proofing foam I see in recording studios.

I've done this for years. Ikea has some nice bottles with stoppers, and World Market also has a wide selection, too. I advise against a cork stopper. Doesn't seem to hold up well. As for guests using my mouthwash... never an issue I've encountered.

For someone in her early 20s, she looks ridden hard and put away wet. That girl is a mess.

When it comes to billing issues, failure to perform and a whole slew of other fraudulent business practices, you can file a complaint with the State Attorney General. They're magic! While living in Boston, my Vespa-like scooter was stolen. I had theft insurance, but my agent said my policy wouldn't be honored. The underwriter said just the opposite. Lots of he/said, she said. I sent a letter to the MA AG and less than one month later, I had my money and the agent was fined up the wazoo. Sometimes just mentioning that you're going to file a complaint with the AG makes people poo their pants and do the right thing. I've used this "gentle reminder" with several businesses with great success. The BBB can't do much, but the AG can make their lives miserable.

Thank for all the input everyone. The current rug is olefin, so I think we may just have to go with an indoor/outdoor that we can hose down.

:)

Most fabric softeners use animal tallow and water-repellent chemicals to waterproof your clothes to make them feel softer. Um, EW!!

Method's designs always draw me in, but the actual products usually leave me underwhelmed. The bathtub tile cleaner doesn't and it has a long-lingering odd smell... supposed to be peppermint, but more like Pepto-mint. I agree with the other Mrs. Meyer's fanatics. The smells are great, the stuff works and the packaging doesn't leak. Now, if the price would just come down a bit...

Hmm, I totally disagree with snot, but with a nickname like that, I guess it's to be expected. I personally love the colors.

$34 for a gizmo that looks like it's made of plastic (not green, I'd say)? You know, you can do the same thing with a tea/coffee mug, too.

I actually like mixing it up a bit to keep things from looking like a museum. Domino mag ran a story a few issues ago about Claire Forlani's house. She's not in a loft, but it's still a great example of how to mix several styles (same thing goes for Cottage Living mag). The house itself is Spanish med, and she has rustic pieces, paired with mid century, and Asian (off the top of my head).

Our living room and dining rooms flow into each other and we have a mix of styles. The dining table/chairs/bench is Craftsman, the buffet... anybody's guess; I know it's around 100 years old. The couch, chair, and cocktail table are all mid century. Our console table is Asian-inspired, but it looks like it also took cues from Craftsman. It seems to work.

As for the Simpsons... you're on your own with that one.

They do have nice stuff and I think the prices are fair given the condition. However, the owner is rude, rude, rude. I asked about desks (they're was only one on the floor) and waved me off with my hands and told me to go out back. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to spend $1000 , I don't want to be treated as if I'm a bother.

Phooey!

Floor Model at Buttercup is much, much nicer to do business with.

Yay on the find! Boo on Amazon. They're selling mags and dvds that promote animal fighting and are refusing to remove them from their offerings because "it amounts to censorship." By that logic, they should be selling kiddie porn.

Grrrr.

Boycott Amazon!

I wrote my cousin & his bride a song and gave two beautiful cookbooks for their wedding. They were moved to tears and then took the opportunity to return the sentiment at my wedding by... not attending or even sending a darn card!

Anyway, regardless of my cousin's boobheadedness, the answer is yes.
