i assume the ring is supposed to remind the nursing mom which side she nursed on last so that she can nurse on the other side next.

Ha! Here's what's wrong with our tap water:

"The report contends that traces of at least 15 pharmaceuticals or their byproducts — including hormones and mood stabilizers — have been discovered in the upstate watersheds that provide drinking water to the city, and that New York's drinking water has never been tested for pharmaceuticals."

I brought a ton of cooking supplies for our tiny communal kitchen. They laughed the first day at my spatulas, cheese graters, etc, but the rest of the year they happily ate my chocolate chip pancakes. It was always nice to at least pretend we were "home."

As a frequent babysitter in NYC, I've had the chance to try tons of strollers. I have to say that even though I'll probably never be able to afford one, the bugaboos are BY FAR the easiest to maneuver when walking in the city. My other babysitting friend will often ask of a new client "bugaboo?" because it can be the difference between enjoying a walk with the baby and not. It's not easy on the stairs/subways etc, but nothing is.

I use Nature's Miracle Odor Clumping Litter and am pretty satisfied. It's basically dust free, is corn-based, and is also flushable. I use cat pan liners from Biobag to avoide the plastic bag issue.

I always keep one of these in my bag. It rolls up into it's tiny case and when you pull it out you can carry groceries, library books, etc. It's roomy and strong!

I discovered 3R when buying a sigg bottle last spring. It's filled with great products and is an easy walk from the Park Slope Food Co-op!
