I have a one-month old baby and I would have loved to have gotten a big pile of stuff that I can eat with one hand (as TASJESS said), since that's usually all I have free. Muffins, homemade granola bars, deviled eggs, some kind of cheese treats, cut up fruit like pineapple and canteloupe, pimiento cheese tea sandwiches, pasta salad, nuts, etc. Basically some really good appetizers that involve fresh veggies, fruit, and some protein. Being awake all hours of the day with the baby, breakfast-lunch-dinner don't necessarily happen, I'm just snacking when I'm hungry but I don't like processed food. Meals for New Moms: Make Lunch! |

Those new SweeTangos are pretty darned good for eating, but they seem to have a short season. Otherwise, Gala and Honeycrisp. What's Your Favorite Apple Variety? |

You can eat flour tortillas the way they are, but they are much better if you warm them up in a dry skillet until they get little toasty brown spots. Much better for soft tacos that way. What's the Difference? Flour vs. Corn Tortillas |

I put it in homemade salad dressing with olive oil, lemon juice and/or red wine vinegar, salt & pepper. You can throw in any herbs, but fresh oregano is the best. How Can I Use Lots and Lots of Fresh Oregano? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I'm vegetarian (vegan-ish... a flexi-vegan?) and my husband is omnivorous with a huge appetite. I buy him the rotisserie whole chicken at the grocery store, and he can add chicken to whatever I've cooked if he wants. Cooking meat is not fun, so I like being able to buy it already cooked if he wants to add it. Poached eggs are a good idea too, as mentioned already. Help Me Find Fresh Ideas for Flexitarian Meals! With 3 medium-sized dogs, I have not managed to find a rug that works. It is just too hard to get the fur and dirt out of a rug--and I am sure those two big dogs shed plenty! Hard surfaces are easy to keep clean. I have washable rugs on the kitchen floor that were like $3 at Ikea, but that's it. If you are wanting a soft place for a baby to crawl, the Flor tiles may be worth a try-- or just a washable quilt, maybe with a rubber mat beneath to prevent slippage. Billy bookcases look awesome with doors, that should be an easy fix. Good luck! Dog-resistant Decor Advice? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |
