What bothers me the most is the change in the body style. As dearly said, girls need to be thin and stylish but boys can be chunky and plain? Disappointed that Lego would cave in to that. I wouldn't have such a problem with it otherwise. I know I would have been into this when I was a kid. And it's getting the audience that otherwise playes with Polly Pockets, which only serve to educate about fashion choices. At least here girls get to have their girliness, but get all the benefits lego play offers. I wish they had a wider range of careers, the best is the inventor set, which is actually pretty cool.

I would rather see my nieces playing with these legos than Bratz or Barbies. And my nephew who is really into legos is asking for a couple of the sets for his 13th birthday, because they have some exclusive bricks. Ultimately I wish they would just integrate boy and girl stuff. Like have a boy and girl astronaut in the astronaut set, stuff like that. If I had a daughter I would allow these to be a PART of the lego collection, but never the whole thing.

Just looked briefly at the City collection, this Friends line should have just been integrated into that. They do have a few blocky girls in the city collection, but not nearly enough.

I would make it. I would use fabric and foam to make the top cushy, use a lightweight round something, maybe plastic. I'm sure you can find a white, cylindrical storage unit, and just attach the mushroom top to that. I know I didn't describe that very well. Just an idea, but ask if you want more detail.

That play set is to die for. Your little girl will love it I'm sure!

Couldn't they have at least made it red? This is disgusting.

Looks delicious! I made a great veggie sloppy joe with quinoa and pinto beans, they were awesome! I added some bbq sauce, but here's the recipe. Definitely going to try this one though! http://www.vegkitchen.com/recipes/glorious-grains/quinoa/pinto-bean-and-quinoa-sloppy-joes/

I have never seen tap shoes at a thrift store. I've been shopping at them my entire life. Good luck finding a pair in the size you need. Lighten up.

I think this is a great idea. My two year old loves to watch tap dancing and I'm sure he'll love this! Much less of an investment than buying tap shoes for a kid with a passing interest!

Haha, fancyd, that's just what would happen! My two-year-old always says "My iPad!"

This as a case would be cool, but not really necessary. I don't have a case or cover on mine and we've had it well over a year and the little one has been using it all along. We (me) have dropped it a few times, even on stone tile. There are a few scratches on the back but other than that, no issues! Very kid friendly!

It depends on the price. If it's very inexpensive (unlikely!) it would be good for parents who won't be buying an iPad. But if this is over $100 I would say to just spend the extra money and get an iPad, it'll last for years and you can share it with your kid.

We used cloth for about the first 6 months of my son's life. I can't remember now what brands we used, there were a few. I absolutely loved the look, so cute. We didn't think they required an extreme amount of effort. A little more work than disposables, but not too much. We did have issues with diaper rash though. I don't know if it's because I couldn't get them clean enough, I tried everything, they seemed clean. There are no diaper services in my area or I would have used one. He ended up with extremely bad diaper rash, I decided to give disposables a try and it went away almost instantly. Switched back to cloth and it came back, etc. So we stuck with disposables.

Looking back I wish we hadn't spent so much money on cloth diapering. Not only the starting costs, but the electricity and water and detergent for washing them. Not to mention the extra work involved. We spend about $20 a month on diapers now (We use Target's Up&Up brand, which I have found works MUCH better than Huggies or Pampers and costs MUCH less! I have been using them for over a year, not a SINGLE leak!)

Just wanted to share my experience, hope no one takes offense to anything I said.

Paint, brilliant!

But Beware! I had this exact ceiling fan when I was a teenager and I put glow in the dark spike tape on it. Looked awesome for a while, but the tape ended up sliding across the blade over time and left a trail of sticky residue behind, which collected more grime than you can imagine. Gross! It was cleanable, but such a hassel. Paint is ingenious, though!

I disagree with bringing your car seat. The first time I flew with my son when he was 4 months old I made the mistake of buying him a seat and bring the car seat. The car seat (Chicco Key Fit 30, pretty standard) did not work, at all. Yes, I asked the flight attendants to help me. It didn't work. I ended up holding him the entire time. Don't struggle with lugging your car seat all over the airport unless you absolutely need to.

I've flown with him lots of times now (he's 2), always over-prepared. The only thing that really works is letting him watch a movie on the iPad (laptop would work too, but there's not much space when you have a baby on your lap already). Special snacks that he isn't used to getting, his favorite (small!) toys, and watching movies. Does the trick for us!

Quite possibly my favorite nursery of all time! I especially love the family wall, I've been planning on doing the same thing but haven't decided what type of frames to go with. I love the gold, it's perfect.
