Not to mention that most people that do it like this, end up making it a full time job, when you could easily work another job instead and earn more money than they are saving and then buy the things that you need, I know you're not taking advantage of a company but you'd have more money left over and you wouldn't be wasting so much and taking advantage of the environment and other things too.

I will agree, it is quite boring, it's just another setup that relies heavily on Apple and other technical components and their design rather than the persons individual design, all he did was put it together, I can't complain though, my desk is just as boring to be honest.

Although one thing that I will never do again is have a glass desk like this, I used to have a similar one and it was a nightmare to live with, being the perfectionist that I am, constant smudge marks and even dust would just show up so much all the time that it was just a constant distraction.

Relying and using the work and design of engineers that created isn't you having "style" any more than it is putting a painting on your wall and claiming it as your own work.

Most of these pictures have Apple products and they look good but they look good because of the work the engineers did at Apple, having a simple and clean desk just shows of this and their work, not your work.

Only 1 picture on here looks like they're own work and have put their own "style" into it and it looks like the work of a teenager, not that that's a bad thing.

This is nothing new and makes people take pictures of unrealistic setups, I mean who places their iPad upside down and who has devices not plugged in all the time?

And didn't unplggd even do a competition that was like this or was that just the same type of angle with just electronics that you own?

I agree completely with White on White, my girlfriend wouldn't mind about this anyways, she's usually the that's interested in it more than me, maybe it's a younger generation thing?

As posted on gizmodo the other day, this is probably a really bad fire risk, I wouldn't recommend anyone else doing this in my opinion:-

I'm confused, why would you want to cover your tv, they're usually the best looking things in most places and surely covering it only brings more attention to it and doesn't take it away, it's still there.

Now hiding it behind a panel or something else I could understand and that would be good if you used your room primarily for something else or didn't have much space.

"o this 30 year old techie, with one foot in the old desktop days and one in the newer portable age, i salute you. laptops suck and (to me) are something you sustain on when you're not around your home machine."

I completely agree with her comment, however she's talking about a computer that's made out of laptop parts and owning an iMac before, I don't see any benefit over a laptop that you would really get with an iMac over a laptop and an extra screen, which she obviously already has.

However, on more of a positive side of things, its a nice post and a really nice setup, I would love to buy something similar to the Logitech Harmony One, it seems like it would be a nice investment for me but I just still can't justify the price of one.

I don't know about you but if I'm going to want to spend a lot of money on a TV, then I would like to future proof it, whether I need it right now or not.

Luckily, I do need it, would update all of my DVDs to Blurays if I had the money but probably wouldn't go anything further than that in the future.

Not to mention for when you plug something else in to it, like something that could display pictures, stream movies or even your computer, the higher resolution of 1080p isn't enough as it is.

If I remember right, when I had and used an XBOX 360, it would support even higher resolutions, incase you were plugging it into a computer screen or something, very handy if you were playing FPS games, which at the time it was supported for what I was playing where every detail is important and you're not always necessarily sitting at a normal distance. The rendered cinematics are completely different most of the time to the experience of the resolutions used when actually playing the game.

I didn't even know that many 720p only TV's were still being manufactured, there's not really that much in them, with the prices anymore anyways and be careful judging TV's in person, usually the settings used to display them are and will be not quite the same as you will be actually using them, with the movie being played on them usually enhanced for the situation that they are in. The best way is to look online at other peoples reviews and opinions on them and you'll eventually get an idea what's the better TV based on what you're looking for and your budget that you have.

I don't think I could take my laptop into the bathroom for long periods of time, especially not while showering, if sweat from your hands can get into your cell phone and ruin it, I would hate to think what this could do to my laptop.

What Tech Do You Use Before Breakfast?

I have the same model as some of the people above too, a previous model, which I actually prefer, there seems to be a lot more options over this new one, including the ability to change the brightness or intensity of it, unless I've missed something.

But somethings that's been missed is that it works really well for adjusting your sleep schedule, which is the main reason why I use it. It comes with instructions on how and when to use it to adjust your sleep schedule and I had problems sleeping for over 10 years before getting this, I tried everything and then within 2 weeks of getting and using this, it almost fixed it completely.

It's a very good device for many different uses.

@wingfeathers

If you read the information above you would realise there's a reason why the price is so different and it's not because its over priced, I just spent over $3000 on a 24 inch screen.

Apple stuff is not overprice, I'm not an Apple apologist or anything but they're really not, they do have some restrictions though but it's just a matter of whether its what you want or not.

For example, do you know how much the aluminum cases are on some of their products, its a lot, especially compared to the plastic equivalents on other computers.

Their new displays are expensive but you currently can't get 1 cheaper from anywhere else. You currently can't find a similar tablet device as the iPad cheaper anywhere else either, some of the recent ones are even close to $1000 instead.

However, I do agree that Apple and budget don't go together though but then neither does any other similar products from other manufacturers either, it depends on what you want and need.

If you work and it requires you to buy a display for over $3000 or even $4000 then you have to, however if you're just going to be watching a few random movies and don't really care and all that matters is size then you could get a similar sized screen for about anywhere between $150 and $400.

These displays are far from the best around, in fact they're no where near, however I would imagine most people on here will find any of them useful so its not really important either way.

There's lots of technical things that you could still do with them, they're not obsolete yet and if you're not going to do anything properly with them then send them to me, I'll take them. :P

I think it's okay but if you're going to do this, why not just send them an email instead, it doesn't sound very personal but that's the point, a typed thank you message wouldn't sound any more personal either.

If you're going to put the effort into it, then write your thank you notes, in my opinion anyways.

I would love to do this with an iPad or something similar but I'd never do it with a cell phone because of the health risks, proven or not, it sounds like a pretty obvious thing that you would want to avoid, especially having it right next to you and your head at night, all night long and every night too. This is why I have always avoided doing this.

I find it odd that people have a problem with a TV in the bedroom but everyones alright with having a cell phone next to your bed all the time and ignore all of the health risks involved with that but a TV, thats awful, right?

I couldn't live without a TV in the bedroom, I grew up with my whole family having them in the bedrooms and all of my friends and my girlfriend now always has done too, in fact this is the first place where I've seen people against having TVs in the bedroom and I come from a very social background and family.
