You can get a left or right hinge Smeg, so why do many of these have the hinge on the more awkward side?

I agree that vaulted ceilings and open foyers can add interest. However, many homes built in the past 20 years are poorly done versions that detract from the overall feel of the home. This addition is fabulous. I admire the creative improvement shown here.

Paper is my biggest challenge. I have come up with systems similar to those mentioned here. Additionally, each New Year's day, I throw out the oldest year of Consumer Reports magazines I had saved, and go through other old magazine stashes. Then I go through the filing cabinet. I toss manuals and receipts for items I no longer own, oldest year of bank statements and credit card statements, oldest year tax folder, outdated insurance cards, and unneeded items. I scan some items that I may need again. - - I also learned that if you oil your shredder cutting bars, the shredder will last a lot longer. I oil mine every other time I empty the bin.

Taking advice from the "expert" at the lighting store for my kitchen lights. I have a low-voltage system with a main unit that is not flush to the ceiling the way the store display was, has too many fixtures, and buzzes when the lights over the table are on. It's bugged me every day since it was installed more than 5 years ago. It was ridiculously expensive and is just visual clutter.

The other picture that was linked above shows that the galley is not as narrow as the AT picture suggests. I thought the new kitchen was a bit claustrophobic until I looked at the other picture.

I too would like to see the same angle for the before and after. I know that many of the entries do have links where they might be available, as @KimberM points out. Frankly, I need to have more of a reason to go to another site than to see if there is a "same angle" picture. The most effective way to show a dramatic change is to show the before and after from the same angle on the AT page. Then I might be interested in finding out more.

@ATS1980 - I had the same issue with the West Elm tray. I put small rubber disks on each corner, like the ones you'd use inside a cabinet door or on the back of a picture. You could also use small felt circles.
