Totally unrelated to food, but Turkish coffee makes excellent massage scrub.

What Can I Do With Turkish Coffee (Besides Make Coffee)? Good Questions

We spent our honeymoon in Italy and brought back many things! My favourite ones are truffle infused olive oil (delicious!!), a mix of dried vegetables and herbs- great for nearly all dishes but it's a bit hot so beware, butter cookies that I admit just buying for their pretty tins, a regional moka pot and coffee beans/espresso, candles from the supplier of Vatican, Italian cookbook, beautiful jewellery from Murano, lots and lots of cheese any many other stuff that I can't recall right now. Italy is a culinary paradise, as well as original crafts if you know where to look for.

My to-go crepe recipe is: 4 eggs, 2 cups of AP flour, 1cup of milk, 1 cup of water, 3 tsp oil, 1 tsp salt, optional: 1 tsp/tbs sugar (depends on how you like).

Whisk eggs, add milk, stir well, add other ingredients (you can sift flour to prevent lumping), mix fine until there's no dry part, but don't over mix. Thin with milk/water if it's too thick to spread. Use a ladle or a cup to grab some of the mix and put it on a medium/high heated, very mildly oiled non-stick crepe pan (or you can generously spray it with oil if it's not non-stick), quickly distribute the mix within the pan equally, when the edges start to come up, turn it over with a spatula, let the other side cook also and transfer to a serving plate. Repeat for the remaining mix.

You can top it whatever you like but my favourite topping are apple sauce or nutella/banana slices combination, just like I had in Paris. :)

Bon Appétit!

Theoretically it's beautiful, but I can't imagine myself trying to step down the ladder with my hand(s) full of plates or any other heavy/fragile thing.

I don't have a huge kitchen, it's nearly half of the kitchen in the photos but I have a microwave attached to a wall on a shelf. It really helps and let my counter space be free.

Wow! I'm impressed that someone wrote about a place in Ankara instead of Istanbul. I'm from Istanbul but I live in Ankara since 2002, so if you visit here I'll be glad to help with anything in the future. By the way, I also recommend Izmir open bazaars (produce markets as you say). They sell great variety of herbs and edible plants.

I use Tefal's steamer and I LOVE it. It's plastic, but I despise the taste of vegetables when they're steamed in metal so it's all fine for me. It's strong, very easy to clean, transparent (makes it perfect to see the state of vegetables and avoid overcooking) and compact. If you're ok with plastic, I definitely recommend it.

"Since quiche is never eaten raw..."

Why not? In here, it's very common to eat them raw when they're ripe. They're delicious raw or cooked. They're also great to nibble if you eat them raw and if the tartness is a problem, well green plums are also tart but we don't cook them, do we?

@Lunchy -- Traditionally meat is almost always added after onions&garlic while tomato paste is added right after the meat and tomatoes never before meat. However if you want tomatoes to be soft but not mushy, it's much better to add them after the slow cooking process. You can always add some water to prevent meat and green beans getting burned.
