Someone - Real Simple maybe - did a comparison of the homemade choices and flower food stapled to the flower paper by florists. The flowers that lasted the longest were ones treated with the packet of flower food. All the other rules apply (changing water, cutting ends, removing leaves). Yes, the humidity can double cooking time. No need to panic for that extra 8 minutes or take them out before they were done. I've made cheesecakes that I have baked for 75 minutes and ones I've baked for 120 minutes.
