Actually, in addition to the 4th and King station in SoMa, San Francisco has two additional Caltrain stations, for a total of three.

The second station is located in Potrero Hill (22nd Street and Pennsylvania), and the third station is in Visitation Valley (on Tunnel Avenue near Bay Shore Boulevard).

(I do not want "outsiders" to think that S.F. has but only one Caltrain station.)

I live in The Portola District, just across the 280 freeway, and I walk/jog to Bernal Heights nearly every day.

Four Star Video (http://www.4starsf.com/) is my source for films and TV shows on DVDs as I do not subscribe to cable or satellite TV. The staff is an absolute gem.

Need succulents for your home? Look no further than Succulence (http://www.thesucculence.com/), located in the rear of Four Star. They'll outfit you with both common and rare succulents to calm and dazzle any living space.

Finally, there is Good Life Grocery, located at the corner of Cortland and Andover. Think of it as a scaled down Whole Foods.

Enjoy discovering Bernal.

Bluewick in their avocado scent is heavenly. And, at $30, you can get two for the price of one Diptyque.

Also, I use an Apothia Soul or Verde from time to time. They are a tad more pricy at $45 from Gump's in San Francisco.

I've used jars and candles for warm outdoor lighting, and they produce a beautiful glow. Also, the larger jars shield the candles from the wind much better than small votives. Just an added bonus, especially here in San Francisco when it can become windy and chilly at the drop of a hat.

I'm glad to see Sylvie is still at it... I purchased a dresser from her in the spring this year just prior to her Better Homes living room photo shoot.

Sylvie does absolute wonders, making furniture oh so desirable.

Belkin has a pretty slick surge protector that conceals plugs and cords. http://www.belkin.com/surgeprotection/concealed/

It seems Belkin is Apple's go to vendor for accessories, so most of their products are clean in design.

We do not subscibe to cable or satellite TV. And we watch DVDs on our laptop. After all, we live in very compact 850-square foot, two bedroom, one bath house.

Watching DVDs on a laptop is no way to watch "Sex in the City."

And, try hosting movie night fundraiser events (with a laptop) for the AIDS/LifeCycle ride... Everyone is looking over each other's shoulder.

Trust me, we'd give the LCD TV a grand home. And, ATers are more than welcome to swing by for TV. Just bring the popcorn, and we'll be grand.

- How to hunt for bargains: Both my mother and father, and to some degree my better-half.

- How to choose colors: Many years of choosing the wrong colors.

- How to rescue old furniture: I think refinishing and restoring has been an intrinsic part of me.

- How to sew: Mother for hand sewing, and self-taught for hemming trousers with a sewing machine.

- How to make compromises in decorating: I'm still learning, and this is due largely in part to my better-half.

- How to love modernism: I love, love, love my parents, but not their odd traditional furniture and clutter that I grew up with, so I sought out the simplicity of modern furniture and design at a young age.

- How to like doing the dishes: I still do not like doing the dishes... However, I love using the dishwasher.

- How to cook: Mother, 80s cooking shows on T.V., an ex who studied at the New York Culinary Institute of America and epicurious.com (love, love, love this site). Also, I worked at Crate & Barrel for a few months in my early-20s, and was lucky to purchase decent cookware at a discount. Good cookware defintely helps.
