That's all true - but I imagine that the target audience who is using Google to search for recipes is going to be pressed for time and looking for something quick and easy.

I used it for the first time this week when, after picking up some tilapia at the market, I was too exhausted to look up how to prepare it. The Google search gave me a quick and painless Cooking Light recipe that was a hit with both myself and my boyfriend.

All of which is to say, I think it's an interesting and helpful tool, but, like any such tool, you wouldn't want to rely on it alone.

um, I just realized that Rachael Ray recipe I recommended does not have jam - I was conflating it with this Rachael Ray recipe that involves marmelade. oops!

I've made both of these easy jam chicken recipes - my boyfriend is "meh" on them, but that's because he doesn't like the idea of eating jam on chicken. I think they're both tasty.

We had avocado fries at a bar here in Brooklyn last summer - they were possibly the most indulgent thing to ever cross my lips.

I am no longer a vegetarian, but I still eat meat much less than my live-in boyfriend. I try to prepare vegetarian dishes that have a protein source (like beans or quinoa) and then cook up some marinated chicken for him - ideally in a complimentary flavor.

I have discovered, though, that he will happily eat some of the tofu and tempeh preparations from Isa Chandra Moskowitz's books - try the Asian Marinated Tofu from Vegan with a Vengeance and the Hot Sauce Tempeh from Veganomicon.

I'm thrown off when my boyfriend tells me he's going to work late, so I plan to eat tofu and steamed broccoli covered in sriarcha (the tofu and broccoli really only a vehicle for the sriracha), and then he gets off early and comes home. I'm of course happy to see him, but that means I have to defrost some chicken breast and make a well-rounded meal.

Off topic but ... I've been hunting for a recipe to make wasabi almonds, but I can't figure out how not to lose the kick of the wasabi when all the recipes I've been finding want me to toss the almonds in egg whites, which would then need to be cooked. Any ideas/

same thing I eat every morning: old-fashioned oats with yellow raisins, craisins, dried blueberries, and walnuts, sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg.

the boyfriend, on the other hand, ate something different for breakfast this morning: an Easter egg.

Cooking Light has redesigned recently, so you might want to give it another try. I really like the new layout.

On the other hand, I think Vegetarian Times has really gone downhill in the last year. I still get it, but I never make anything out of it anymore. There aren't that many recipes, and the ones that it does have are usually either too complicated for a weeknight or too familiar.

Room & Board is a lot nicer than IKEA.

I have a R&B sofa (Hawthorne) and I love it. I realize that's not helpful for the Westwood, but this sofa has moved from Chicago to New York with me and endured a number of spills (I'm a messy eater who likes to eat in front of the TV) and it still looks nice.

I also love a good salad from a restaurant!

I don't really have any rules about what I eat out versus in; I just order/cook whatever my mood dictates. (This annoys my boyfriend when my mood calls for simple veggies and tofu when we're at a restaurant.)

I was also so sad to see Ashley go home! I understand that there were problems with the dish, but there were also problems with Michael & Ash's dish -- and Ash pretty much contributed nothing and then threw himself under the bus.
