I also have Rosenthal Loft and I love it. I have been buying pieces a la carte. It is white but the lines makes it interesting.

This recipe needs to be written more clearly. In two places, it refers to 'the mixture'. One reference is to the vinegar mixture and the second appears to be to the carrot and onion mixture. Also it never explicitly says that the vinegar mixture is put into the jars to cover the peppers. And there is no indication of how many jars this will yield.

Grafton creamery makes a good maple smoked cheddar that I like. I am also partial Zingerman's smoked mozzarella.

Thanks for all the comments. Upon reflection, I did not think I wanted to tackle these myself. We took them to a pro who will do all four for $240. That includes taking them apart, changing the fabric, and reassembling. My thought was that even if I could get them apart, I was only one striped bolt from chaos. We originally bought them at Workbench in the clearance center and got a good deal so it makes sense to refurbish them.

I especially love fresh lima beans which I can get for just a couple of weeks in the summer at the farmers' market. I eagerly await their appearance.

I am going swimming and then to our local science museum where my husband works. After that, maybe happy hour. Who wants to waste a whole day off shopping?!

That is certainly one way to solve the problem - just eat them all now ;-)

Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Good Question: What Can I Do With All These Cucumbers, Tomatoes, and Peppers?

My husband cuts up peppers and freezes them. He buys a couple every trip to the farmers' market and by the end of the summer has a pretty full bag in the freezer. They aren't good to eat raw after being frozen but they are great cooked in a dish. I once canned eggplant, basil, and grilled peppers in olive oil and vinegar. That turned out pretty good but it is way more work than the freezing.

We just had a our tub refinished. The prep and painting was on Monday from 8am until 2pm. Yesterday, he came back to clean-up and re-caulk the tub. We will be able to use tomorrow night. Our tub had been 'refinished' when the apartment went condo but we think the developer never did the prep so the finish started peeling immediately. This finish comes with 5 year warranty. The total cost was $350.

I made the sweet potato and tempeh stew. I really enjoyed the spices. I think I would use tofu if I make it again. I don't eat much tempeh and I didn't really like the texture.

Vernors and vanilla ice cream for me. We call those Boston Coolers (although I don't know why). I do like root beer too.

To clarify, the utility boxes in question don't involve meters. We live in a condo complex and we have two cable tv installations and one installation in our back privacy area. Our electric meters are on the side of the building and are quite visible and ugly. We only bothered with these boxes because they were in the middle of our garden. The morning glories attract bees etc but so do the lilies, the nasturiums, and the humming bird feeder. THe last time a cable guy had to get to the box, we just ripped the morning glories down. We have lived there 6 years and only had to rip the flowers out once for service.

We have three utility boxes behind our condo. My husband painted the two metal ones dark green and we grow morning glories around them every year. It makes them blend in.

My husband is a very picky vegetarian - I call him a fussetarian who won't eat eggs if they look eggs, goat cheese because it comes from a goat etc. He is retired and I work so during the week we are often at different places at dinner time. Weekends, I make meat or chicken for me and any guests along with a substantial vegetable dish. I also do build your own things where everyone can indulge their own choices. We recently had a build your grilled pizza dinner with two kinds of mozarella, two kinds of goat cheese, various vegetables, and pepperoni plus a large green salad. It was a big success.
