I just did a similar thing to my bathroom in a 1890 rental building in Chicago! My clawfoot tub is painted dark green with gold feet and piping. I'm having trouble finding cute gold towelbars to go with, hmmmm.

Is there a liner on the shower curtain? It looks like the fancy curtain runs way outside the edges of the tub and could be a real mess in real-life terms.

This post is just in time! Been thinking about an arc lamp for my new rental. Leaning towards the C&B or CB2 because of the dimmer options.

what color are the walls? I like that they don't scream pink. Peachy-pink walls make for more flattering skin and, let's take it a step further, better bedroom activities!

I think a drawer is the way to go IF you have the space.

The magnetic jars solution is cute, but PLEASE don't keep them out in the light and heat, which will degrade the flavor of your spices really fast. Definitely keep 'em in the cabinet! Also, I am struggling with what I would do with the extra spices from the original containers if the magnetic jars didn't fit a whole bottle's worth of spices... you'd have to buy smaller amounts from the bulk bins (Whole Foods) for this solution.

The SpiceStack seems to fit the most spices in the least amount of space, out of the way in your cabinet. It might not look pretty, but it works!

Spice storage is a huge problem for many kitchens, especially as people delve deeper into cooking global cuisines at home. So thanks for bringing up the subject AT!

My Dad invented a unique spice rack called the SpiceStack. It is designed to hold 18 spice bottles from the grocery store in the kitchen cabinet where spices stay organized, fresh, and out-of-sight, yet accessible. SpiceStack comes with 96 stickers so you can label the outside drawers to find spices even faster while cooking. It's also stackable for people with large spice collections. Best of all, the SpiceStack is made right here in the Chicagoland area and we ship directly to customers, saving time and energy along the way.

More spices in less space is always a good thing...
Check out the SpiceStack here. Happy Organizing!

I JUST painted the dingy bathroom in my rental with a white with pink undertones (another tip from AT) and it looks infinitely better than the teal color that was there before. Unfortunately, the tub, sink, and toilet now look pretty bad compared to the white, white walls. I think a new show curtain will help cover up the tub, but does anyone have thoughts on how to whiten old porcelain (or make it at least appear whiter)? Should I go bold on accents or add more white to the room?

If you don't have the time to make your own rack, or prefer to buy regular spices from the grocery, try SpiceStack! Its a new spice organizer that holds 27 bottles in your kitchen cabinet (away from heat and light) so it won't take up space on your countertop. SpiceStack's drop-down drawer design allows you to find your spices fast while cooking. $29.95 plus S&H - Check it out at www.SpiceStack.com.

I invented a new kind of spice organizer because I had a small apartment in the city and too many spices. It's called SpiceStack because it stacks 27 spice bottles (more if you like the little half-size bottles) from the grocery store in a relatively small space in your kitchen cabinet. Three drawers pull out and drop-down so you don't have to spend forever digging through cabinets looking for the spice you need. Check it out at www.SpiceStack.com!

My biggest hassle was organizing my spices. I never liked any of the countertop models because I didn't want to display the ugly plastic bottles (and spices prefer dark, dry places). So I designed and manufactered my own spice rack (call the SpiceStack) in conjunction with my dad who is a product designer. I'm currently selling at www.spicestack.com...I don't know if I'm allowed to do plugs in the comments section, but it certainly helped me get organized in one of my kitchen problem spots.
