Some of these are really cute, but when you own a large breed dog your choices are a bit curtailed. So far the best bed we've found for our pyr mix is an orthopedic memory foam bed from Big Dog Beds. They offer covers in a couple of the Crypton William Wegman fabrics, so the bed looks pretty good and more importantly my dog's joints are happy. It's not the cheapest bed out there, but the covers wash beautifully and the mattress is holding up very well. I'd rather spend more on a quality bed and have it last a good long time than throw away/replace one every year.

Beautiful fireplace and sofa!

I like the idea of neutral with texture, maybe something like this:

or, if you want to go bold what about a vintage overdyed patchwork rug?

That is the Eames aluminum group lounge chair. It still has a star base and the camel leather option looks pretty close in color to the picture.

I like most things Moooi but the Gothic Chair doesn't really do it for me, and at $384 it isn't exactly a budget priced chair.

I have a very similar table and when it was being used in our dining room we had glossy black Panton chairs around it, not budget but beautiful. After moving to a larger space the table is in the family room with vintage Eames shell chairs in different colors around it, mostly because that's what we had, which also looks good.

Also, I'd try it without any rug underneath...

I never really liked the way the table looked with the leaves in so we only use them when needed and most of the time the table is square with 4 chairs around it. When we need to use the leaves we just pull in other non-matching chairs.

Here is a not very current photo of the table down one Eames chair and with a Ghost chair standing in temporarily.

The best poster shop I've ever been to is Galerie Un Deux Trois in Geneva, great quality, all original and they have a pretty great web site as well.

Here is a photo of my favorite poster purchase from them:

I'm surprised that in the year of the rabbit you left out this great Moooi light, it's not quite as wonderful as the horse but it sure takes up a lot less space!

That is a seriously beautiful light. It reminds me quite a bit of a Raak chandelier I've been eyeing. You might try contacting/sending a photo to someplace like rewire in Los Angeles to see if they can identify the fixture or help with replacement globes.

And ditto on the comment above, I can't imagine that anything from IKEA could compete with a Sciolari.

If you look at the marketplace area of the website, where they sell items with slight flaws, there is a Magnetique with white boxes on sale for 550 euros with an original price quoted of 791 euros. It doesn't look to me like they have any distributers in North America, so if you were really interested you'd probably have to contact the company directly.

I love all things bubbly; champagne, prosecco, cremant, etc. and collect flutes usually in sets of two.

My favorites are by Holmegaard: http://www.heathceramics.com/go/heath/homeware/store/index.cfm?catID=32

I do love the Riedel you've shown here, I think a pair may have to join the collection.

Another idea - when you get the condo docs to go over also request minutes from some of the past
meetings, this will give you an idea of how the owners work together and how the building is run.

Looks sort of familiar! We've decided to live with the paneling and brick for the time being since we have more pressing projects to tackle. Plus my husband likes it as is and I'm of the opinion that painting/removing built-ins, paneling, etc is a job best contemplated for a while since it is much easier to do than undo. In our case the living room, dining room and kitchen are very open and the kitchen cabinets are in their original, unpainted state which makes me a little less impatient to get rid of the paneling.

Taking the brass door (we had a brass chain screen thing) off the fireplace will help a lot. I also used a gentle wood cleaner and mineral oil on our paneling which made a difference. I really like the advice about removing the leaning shelf and possibly pushing the sofa back a little too...

Here is my space such as it is, the fireplace is looking a bit messy - it was chilly last night!

There are a lot of good looking, dare I say stylish, dog beds out there.

We have 2 dog beds in our house, one from Crypton in a cool William Wegman fabric, it looks great and cleans beautifully: http://www.cryptonfabric.com/pet-beds/cat-dog-beds.do

The only negative is the insert that comes with the cover, it's very puffy and our dog hated it, so we had a local foam shop make us an insert of orthopedic foam.

Here is our guy on his crypton bed: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29500172@N08/4595734151/

The other bed is from a bay area shop called George that sells pretty spiffy looking beds too: http://georgesf.com/s/shopdisplayproducts.asp?subcat=1&cat=beds

Enjoy your beautiful new companion!

I've had black Panton chairs for many years and have paired
them with two very different tables. First an old walnut
