Another vote for John Taylor from Duran Duran. My favorite was a big close-up circa 1983 / "Rio". He was wearing a white suit and his nose was slightly peeling from a sunburn. Be still my heart...I still giggle when I see pictures of him.

That picture makes my skin crawl. I can't imagine. I too am feeling incredibly fortunate today. Regardless of the reasons, that is no way for a person to live.

You know, Eloise's nanny drinks beer and smokes and watches boxing on television. I was a bit taken aback by the picture when I read the book to my daughter. Then I started laughing hysterically. I never paid attention to that part when I was younger.

I just don't see the before as "seriously out of date." I wish my kitchen looked that great! Modern kitchens feel cold and lifeless to me, too. Give me warm and practical any day.

That thing is gigantic and odd. And it looks like it would be awkward to get down off of it.

My kids would kill themselves on this, but I absolutely LOVE it.

I've been disappointed with Ballard Design's customer service, but I haven't purchased any furniture. The quality of their products, in my opinion, is equivalent to Target, and that makes them quite overpriced.

Very cool, but does anyone else think the Latt set is tiny? I hesitate to purchase it because I'm not sure how long my 19-month-old will even get to use it.

Twice. If I can't find the perfect shade the first time, I usually go a completely different direction. I just don't have the patience to try various shades of the same color. I certainly applaud those of you who do.
