Lego organization like this just seems like bizarre overkill to me. Half the thrill of Lego building for me was the hunt, for honing my vision and tracking down that elusive, perfect piece. Victory! But we kept our Legos all thrown together in a big bin.

Then I met my husband, and his mother showed me his childhood Lego collection, every set carefully stored in ziploc bags with the intact instructions.

So everybody's different, I guess.

I agree the rug is too small.

What about the Gus Modern Thompson chair, the modern windsor chair at West Elm or the pony tweed chair at CB2, which would introduce some metal and shine.

Looks like there's a baseboard heater along the length of that wall, so unfortunately a long built-in probably won't work. I do agree that the paint on the dormers is awkward. Either make it all white or all gray down to the floor. I would also lose the curtains and replace them with some gauzy white sheers with no tiebacks (or if you must keep the curtains, tie them up in the center, instead of pulling them off to the side). If you group the plants a little better as suggested, you might also think about making their pots cohesive -- all white, all black, something like that.

I agree. Pick out a bold modern rug (I'm thinking Thomas Paul, maybe) and build from that.
