I will splurge on something for quality that you can feel or see. I am perfectly happy with replicas when the quality is the same or marginally less as the original. But, I'm kind of poor and cheap :)

I saw this tour when it first came out and check back with it every so often. I love, love, love it, and even 6-9 months later, it still inspires me!

I am currently living with open shelving and I thoroughly dislike it. I do use the kitchen often and enjoy being able to see everything I have at my disposal, but the dust and clutter is just too much.

It's the same protocol as any other event that someone is hosting - bring a gift if you want. It's never necessary to bring a gift, but it's always a nice gesture. Plus, hosting an event is more than just providing food- it involves prepping your house, trying to make people comfortable, and clean up.

I prefer #2.

The first one looks very blue on my screen.

I did this, too, with Anthropologie knobs that I found on sale for a more eclectic look... They are really adorable!

I suppose I could live, but it would not be comfortable existence. I am a valley girl in SoCal, and like, I totally wouldn't want to! This is a desert, yo! We did put fancy pants new insulation in our walls this winter and I am a big proponent of ceiling fans in bedrooms, but there are certain nights where that just does not cut it here.

LSU, I think the trick is to paint over the tape in the original wall color first, then over the whole thing with the second layered color. The wall color acts as a guard because even if it does bleed, it is the same color as the wall, yo!

I really love the colors that you've chosen, including the pop of teal. I think the subway tiles will complete it and look awesome.

I'm on the lookout for the tile in #10. I contacted the online supplier mentioned by the homeowner, but they're no longer selling that color combo. Bummer!

We took off wood paneling in our 2nd bedroom to find a beautiful, hand painted wallpaper of a lovely tree on top of a boys bedroom ships and world map wallpaper, on top of some very adorable vintage flower wallpaper. I loved thinking about the history of the house, but none of it was salvageable in any way due to the years of smoking done in the house by the previous owners. In our current renovating, we are leaving little notes and artifacts in the walls and surrounding.

If I love something, it works in my home, and is economical, I don't let the fact that it is a trend stop me from proudly displaying it then and probably long after the trend has passed. For me, it's about looking around my home and seeing things that make me happy, not what makes me look the best to my visitors. To each her own, trend or not.
