Happily renting, married mother of 3, right here!! I have been in that exact same situation. I may be the only renting mom at pre-school pick up, but I love our apartment, neighborhood, and feel really lucky to be here. We almost bought a couple of years ago, and looking at how underwater our friends that did buy at the time are, so glad we didn't.
We will someday. I suppose.

Brookline and Brighton? The only thing they have in common is the "B".

Love the room! Colorful without being childish. Most of all, I can tell it was made with love. The comments though....ugh. this room is styled (very well) for the photos. she even mentions it. yet, you all have to chime in with your safety issues.
lots of people buy bumpers and don't use them. i did with my first. it was silly, but i was giddy with my first baby. i never used it, and never bought one for baby #2 or #3. i don't judge new parents for doing it. you can't just look at the pretty pictures she set up for you? let her have fun, for goodness sake!

It really depends on the baby. I didn't have much use for mine with my 2nd baby, but it was a lifesaver with my 1st. Baby #3 is due this summer, and there will be a glider in her room. Just in case she's that kind of baby.

I'm so sick of toys being assigned a gender! I had the hardest time finding a toy vacuum for my 18 month old that wasn't PINK. I had to search 4 stores. Ridiculous. I have 2 boys, and those boys have both a toy kitchen, AND a toy tool bench. My nieces come over, and play happily with both too. Please, stop the madness. Let our children create without boxing them into gender stereotypes.

Sorry, but the Expedit is awesome. I don't care where it's from. It's just plain awesome.
Also, I have a Karlstad sofa, and I love it. Truthfully, I would have loved to invest in a more expensive sofa, but I have 2 small children. It has been perfect for our lifestyle. The price is such that I can let my children actually LIVE in our living room, AND the washable slipcovers have saved me from having a stained sofa. Maybe people without kids don't know, but kids puke...everywhere. I won't mention what kind of messes they make as babies. I cannot have a $2000 sofa in my house. Just can't. But like I said, I actually love my Karlstad. I'm not looking to replace it anytime soon.

A house should be a reflection of the people who LIVE in it, and I can clearly see that yours is. It's beautiful. Love the way the wall color works with the rich wood tones. Well done!
