Does anyone know anything about that lace trashcan in the first picture? I can't find it anywhere online.

Thank you for this amazing link! I love retro Disney and I have a friend who collects. I don't think she knows about this blog, I am so excited to talk to her about it!

Wow. I bet people would get uptight over any cleanser that could be discussed. Everything has it's fans and opponents.

As to people getting upset at Ohdeedoh or Apartment Therapy for the "ad disguised as being content", isn't almost everything written about on this site for sale somewhere? Why is someone sharing hints about a $2 sponge worse than someone sharing design ideas that include $200 dressers? Chill out folks.

I think the cheapest advice is this: Put it in the driveway, put down a tarp, send the kids to a sitter and use a chemical stripper. Wear a mask and keep it all contained on the tarp. When finished, throw the tarp and all the scrapings in an old bucket or container that has a lid and find a place that can dispose of it safely. Good luck.

I read the full version online a few weeks ago and I have to say it was a hard read. It's heartbreaking to see what some children struggle through. As an adult I can see the somewhat heavy handed editing: spoiled pageant princess versus child laborers, however I think it would still be a very powerful tool to educate my own "spoiled" children and hopefully shape their global perspective.

I seal all of those holes shut with my glue gun. It makes it so they can't shoot water out, which may be a downer for your kids, but mine don't even know that's an option. I feel much better about them in the tub for months on end.

Photo booths are such a fun idea, but can we all agree that mustaches have been done to death?

You had me at I love bench!

As to making it removable, I would sew elastic around the bottom, like a tiny fitted bed sheet. It wouldn't be quite as tailored, but it would work ok.

You could do this and use hooks to hang ornaments or little boxes or bags from the longer "branches". This is one of the most adorable advents I've seen. I imagine that the lollipops end up in a big pile somewhere though.

It reminds me of Grace's room in the movie Annie (1982 version). I must of watched that a thousand times as a kid. The 8 year old I was would've died to sleep in this room.

And I agree, I imagine the Barbies and Carebears were tucked out of sight for the pictures.

As a former flight attendant (9 years) and a current mom to a toddler, these are all great tips! However, can I please say, "No Bubbles". It's supremely rude to the other passengers. Also- please bring headphones. You wouldn't believe how many people blast their kid's movie. I got some of those big ones for my 1 year old, they cover her whole ear and she loves them, smaller ear buds are hard for most kids. And please don't let your kids put the stickers on the plane. Bring paper or coloring books, or even use the SkyMall magazines. Again, you would be surprised at how many times we had to scrape stickers off of tray tables and windows. Remember the other "little people" who have to clean it all up. Good luck!
