I have made many, many different pancake recipes and this is the best fluffiest, tastiest one by far:

I always add wheat germ to my granola before baking- around 1 cup per 6 cups of oats.
Tastes nutty and delicious.
I can't speak for what it does to the nutritional value however.

Ikea makes a wonderful long and narrow loaf pan which holds the same amount of batter as the regular size loaf pan.
It shortens the cooking time as well as eliminating that soggy middle/tough crust phenomenon.
The slices are also a much more managable size, I find.

@ witchbaby: I think your generalizations are a bit harsh. I have seen plenty of folks using food stamps/state assistance to buy healthy stuff. You can even use them at the farmer's markets here.

That said, I love to check out what is on other people's carts. It's just another form of people watching.

I have not had this before, but have done something similar with leftover (plain) rice instead of the biscuits. Good comfort food.
