I have plenty of storage so I do buy some things in bulk, like TP and kitty litter, but even so I am trying to switch to reusable or multiuse products so as to buy less, period, both for environmental reasons and because I hate shopping. We got a Sodastream for Christmas and voila - no more lugging bottles of fizzy water home from the store. We switched from paper towels to microfiber cloths. As I run out of cleaning products, I am trying out recipes for homemade natural products. Basically, I would love to keep a half dozen or so ingredients on hand (baking soda, vinegar, etc.) rather than dozens of special-use cleaning and beauty products. Food-wise, I also find that planning meals and shopping a couple of times a week for the ingredients in small quantities works better for my family than buying in bulk, when we tend to end up with lots of half-used packages of stuff but no idea what to eat for dinner.

"You can be an impatient bread maker and let the bread making teach you patience" may just become a personal mantra for me -- in all areas of life. Thank you as always for a thought-provoking start to my Sunday.

Love it! A great balance between respect for this fine example of Craftsman architecture and a modern, light, airy feeling.

Most of our ceilings are painted a lighter shade of the creamy wall color. First it seemed a little overwhelming, but I have grown to like it. It really makes our crown moldings (which is painted in a Swiss Coffee semi-gloss) pop - much more so that they did when we had flat Swiss Coffee on the ceilings.
