Mine's a red, black, and white mug from World Market's clearance section that has the Mona Lisa on it, and she's holding a mug that says, "I <3 Coffee", and the handle says, "coffee makes me smile." Expresses my sentiments about coffee to a T. Do You Have a Favorite Coffee Cup? |

Thought: You don't have to have towels stored in the bathroom itself. I've seen people with this setup work it such that each person has their own towels in their bedroom and just brings them while they're showering. And then each bedroom has an over-the-door towel rack on which the towels can hang to dry -- and, a bonus, the towels dry faster because they're not in a tiny, humid bathroom. OK, as someone who stores just about everything in the refrigerator (because I've had problems with neighbors sending there roaches my way and I'm now paranoid), I'd say your fine keeping just about everything in it. Potatoes, tomatoes, and the other things people mention not doing well in the fridge really only have issues when you store them for longer periods of time. So you can combat that by just not overstocking yourself. Are There Any Foods I Really Shouldn't Store in the Fridge? Good Questions |

Someone needs to develop a smoke detector with a temporary low-sensitity button where you could push the button for, say, half an hour at a time while you're frying bacon, and then it could automatically go back up to normal sensitivity afterward. How To Stop Annoying Smoke Detector False Alarms |

Krikkit -- I used to do the same thing...until the time I ended up in a HUGE, unexpected rainstorm (the forecast called for "drizzle") on a trip. I had soaking wet shoes and only soaking wet shoes, and i did a number on my feet because I had nothing to swtich my shoes out with so that they could dry. Remember, the respect thing goes both ways. A lot of meat-eaters are fed up with being preached to about how horrible their eating habits are when it's a difference of opinion. A lot of vegetarians take a holier-than-thou approach (look at ME and how wonderful MY eating habits are!) to the subject with the families, so I can see why one's family members may have a hard time respecting one's vegetarianism. Vegetarians want respect, they should be respectful of their families meat eating in return. When Being Vegetarian (or Vegan) Gets in the Way of Family Gilt Taste |

B77, I've got big feet (at least, for a woman -- I wear an 11), and one thing to take an extra pair of lace up shoes is to tie two shoes together by the laces and hang them from the laces on the strap of my shoulder tote that goes under the seat on the airplane (kinda like the way fuzzy dice hang, if that makes sense). They're outside the bag and still fit under the seat, and I've never had any TSA person or flight attend say anything about that being an issue. This works for shoes that just won't squoosh, like heavy walking shoes or sneakers. Well Designed Travel: How to Pack Lightly aka Fitting Everything I Need for 3 Months Into 2 Bags! |

As far as laundry goes, one thing I recommend is taking a bar of soap, either Ivory or something specifically for laundry, like Fels-Naphtha, so you don't have to take along another liquid. And it doesn't take up much space -- I alwys can fit mine inside a packed shoe. Unlike taking something like Tide, it works great in the sink and you don't have to have access to a washing machine to use it. For stains, take along some Shout wipes.
