I have walked by this house several times... love the black, love the blue too, but I hate the garage door. I don't object to contemporary additions to Victorian houses per se, but I don't think this one works very well. The garage door is really the first thing the eye is drawn to, especially from the pedestrian's perspective, which is unfortunate for such a lovely house. Black Painted House: Love It or Leave It? |

What a great excuse to get a dog-- I've been trying to convince the babydaddy that our lives are incomplete without one, and now I can say "But honey, we really NEED a dog, to keep the dining room floor clean." While I obsess over which option to go with, I think I will experiment with going with a naked floor. Thanks, everyone! Oh ugh, no offense to Ms. Spade, but I am so sick of that whole preppy look. These may not be *childish*-- in truth, they would be better if they were a little more childish, since they are childrens' items-- but they are still just silver-plated tchochkes!
