I just purchased a 2010 Ford Escape -- I live in rural Oklahoma, so I understand the need for AWD/4WD. I love it. Getting great gas milage so far -- over 30mpg for my daily commute. It's flex-fuel, if you're into the ethanol thing, and I know that they make a hybrid version as well.

Our new blender doubles as a coffee grinder! It works so well, and that's just one less small appliance to keep in our tiny kitchen.

Just a note about Triclosan...

My Orgo teacher in college made a huge deal about the widespread use of this compound in everyday products. Triclosan is extremely stable, and so does not easily break down. Triclosan persists in the environment indefinitely and has been shown to build up in the body.

Moral of the story, I try not to buy anything with triclosan in it. The last thing we need is more antibiotic material building up in our bodies and in our environment. Hot water and soap are more than enough to kill bacteria.

I throw them in the dishwasher and say "bon voyage." For the very few non-dishwasher friendly things we own... very hot water with a dish towel.
