I actually purchased a KitchenAid a few months ago for making bread, and it did not hold up well; in fact, the motor broke down on the third use! Buyer beware.

Excellent! I just moved into a studio with a teeny tiny kitchen without much storage space, so this is good to know.

I was also a student when I wanted to get a dutch oven as well. I bought this dutch oven for $40 at IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70131724. I've been using it for a couple of years, and it's worked out great!

I really did not like the current issue featuring Gwyneth Paltrow. I'm not subscribing to BA to ogle at beautiful celebrities romping around the kitchen in a skimpy dress.

I also agree that the layout and design of the magazine feels like it's geared more towards men. I really don't like the new BA. If things don't get better by the time my subscription runs out in August, I won't be renewing it.

Dave's used to be a couple blocks away from where I lived when I was a college student at Tufts! Everything that they make in the store is amazing, but their spinach and ricotta raviolis are exceptionally outstanding. Now I'll need to make a special trip to Davis this weekend!

When I was growing seedlings this year, I roped off the area around the plants with sticky tape. It only took the both cats just once to figure out that they didn't want to go anywhere near that tape.

Cayenne pepper (and spray) didn't work for my cats.

Hanging plants are also wonderful.

I'm a first-generation Korean, grew up in South Korea for half of my life, and had family and family friends from all regions. I have NEVER encountered an eating situation where spitting fish bones on the floor or the table was acceptable. Disgusting and untrue.

My Korean mother makes the batter with no eggs in it, just with enough water to thin it out to a soupy consistency. Then she spreads the batter out thin, and once the bottom of the pancake is set, she quickly whips up a single egg and spreads it out on top of the pancake. It gives the pancake an omelet-like consistency and it is delicious! I never make pajeon any other way.

I quarter the sticks of butter, put it in a shallow bowl, and nuke it for about 7-8 seconds. I take it out, flip the butter pieces, and do it for another 4-5. Always perfect!
