I love the AT is branching out in NorCal with this home tour! Ellie has such personality infused into her starter home. I love how budget friendly it is - with thrifting, and repurposing, and a few IKEA finds thrown into the mix, she has managed to create a warm and cozy environment that is filled with texture and color! I've been to her house in person, and it is beyond amazing - almost like walking into an Anthropologie store...creativity and artistry ooze out of every corner. She is always creating something new to add to her nest, and I love that her home is an ever evolving palette for her latest whimsy or vintage find. Bravo, Ellie! And for all of the readers who hate "tract" homes...shame on you! Ellie rented a spunky old home prior to this (http://elliegrover.blogspot.com/2009/01/welcome-to-331.html) and I know she LOVES amazing hard wood, crown molding, and period details...but not everyone can afford to purchase an old home. So I think she has done a marvelous job transforming this space into something budget friendly AND truly unique.

Thank you for all the comments on the shower! It was a joy to put together all the details and to host! Just wanted to clarify a few of the comments above:

- The Dessert Buffet was to feed guests (adults) as well as serve as the "favor" as I had cello bags and pink twist ties set up on the table for goody bags.

- I definitely think that a dessert or candy bar at child's event could be excessive in regards to sugar consumption, however, there are always creative ways to bake with agave nectar and gluten free flours, include fruit and veggies in fun ways, etc. I think the whole concept of the dessert bar is a fun focal point for any event and can be whatever you want it to be! From savory to sweet and everything in between!

- Unfortunately, one of the down-sides of hosting at a restaurant is the fact that I didn't have control over things like the linens not being ironed (provided by the restaurant, who's staff was...not the most competent unfortunately). But the upside to having it at a restaurant versus somebody's home is you don't really have to clean before/after and you and your guests are served! So I felt like a guest and could enjoy my friends shower just as much as everyone else.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! If you'd like to see more images from the event, check out the photographers blog: http://www.elliegrover.com/blog

Happy Friday!
