i work at an independent movie theatre, and coconut oil is the only kind we use to make the popcorn. it is very good - we have customers come in just to buy popcorn. A Healthier, More Flavorful Fat? Consider Coconut Oil |

i have to comment as someone who has actually worked in three non-profit thrift stores (like goodwill, salvation army, etc., except local organziations). when you see workers throwing stuff out, there is probably a very good reason. i worked as a sorter (both clothing and household items) and i have discovered that people generally think that because they own it, it still has use. as a result, i threw out bags and bags of clothing that was stained, full of holes, or moldy, or household items that were broken. some stores cannot/ do not sell certain items, either. for example, a lot of baby items (i.e. certain cribs, or car seats) are considered non-saleable, because of the age of an item. older cribs are now considered hazardous (wider slats) and it is difficult to determine the safety and age of a car seat. as tough as it is for some people to believe, some stuff is just garbage. as a fargo resident, i won't rent anything that doesn't have the heat paid, which is pretty standard for this area. you could rack up some serious bills if you had to pay for heat from november to march. access to a garage (another fairly standard feature) is a must as well. If only you could see what it looked like before they redid it. When I moved to Fargo in 2001, it was a pay-by-the-week bum motel. I know everyone loves to joke about Fargo, but the downtown area (where the HoDo is) has improved by 100 percent in the last few years. As for $195 being too expensive for Fargo; a regular room at any of the big chain hotels will run you $75-100 anyway. And on a side note: if you ever actually come here, do not mention the movie. trust me. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Nouveau Fargo: Hotel Donaldson's Renovated Rooms |
