Go to the website movingscams.com, which has an incredibly comprehensive list of moving company recommendations and warnings. My move of a 2-bedroom from LA to Chicago last winter (with way too many boxes of books) was around $6,000. It was double what I paid to move from Chicago to LA (and I didn't have double the stuff). The couch must go. What is that loosely covered cushion on top of the seat cushion? Too too salvation army. An attractive couch will make an enormous difference. Also white trim. stop futzing with the finish--it's Ikea: paint will never transform it adequately. Find knobs that make you happy, and if you can't find them--abandon the project and put the dresser in the closet. Ack! No animal prints! They only work on a smaller scale and that is a sizeable chair. I recommend going bright and/or patterned (I once had a pink chair in that shape and it was beloved by all.) And don't be afraid to paint the wood in a color that plays up the upholstery color. While attractive, it is not a valuable antique and will not lose its value with a new finish.
